What mods would you recommend for good looking characters?

I recently completely uninstalled Skyrim and all my mods, due to not playing it, but it didn't take me too long to want the game back, and now I'm faced with a problem: I have NO idea what appearance mods I had installed.

 

I'm going to just go with the CBBE body and probably use Enhanced Character Edit as I had before, but other than that, what mods would you recommend so I can make characters that would actually be somewhat pleasant to look at?

Depends a lot on what you want and like. It is very subjective. I use body slider 2 and use a UNP base body and then use the sliders to tweak it. I use HDT and a custom xml to get the bounce I want. Then I use Fair Skin for the textures, I use cover eyes for the eyes and finally AOF Unbelievable Hair(not sure of the name of the last one but I think that is it)

 

All that with the sliders lets me get the character I want.

Enhanced Character Edit is the way to go, other than that, I use SG female textures, and SG hair packs. As well as true eyes, and cover eyes, but I'm not sure on those two.

I can't tell you what you'll like, so go searching character or preset threads until you find a face you like! Then install the face/eye/hair/etc packs they use. Using someone elses preset as a better starting point is an option too, just tweak it to your taste.

 

And don't use ECE. Use RaceMenu. Trust me. It's more flexible (can do everything ECE can), more up-to-date, and all around more well-coded.

If you got an old rig like me and not running enb with lower gfx I would go with alt navetsea skin textures. It's the only pack that give me 0 neck seam.

 

And yes, Racemenu has surpassed ECE now.

apachiihair (too unlore and look really misplaced on skyrim)

body vanilla textures (cbbe,unp,etc..) (look too simple, better textures today that didnt cost any drop fps or else)

 

thats what i use and for now, my characters look good enougth for me and i not have powerful computer (got an BSOD yesteday because of very hot long used it lol)

SG texture is good for faces. Fair skin has nicer hands/feet textures. Don't think you can mix them, so you'll have to pick one. SG hair is the best all around hair. Kijiko hair is good but it has much less choices. Iirc, cbbe has a body sculpt plugin for racemenu, so you're probably better off getting rm.
