RegisteredUser Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Greetings, I've thrown together a SexLab modset over the past two days, trying my best to suss out how it all works together, what I can expect and what I need to pay attention to. Today I finally got to do some proper ingame tests... some of them went great, but some of them just raised a whole heap of questions. These questions are all over the place - SexLab, Zaz, Devious Devices, body meshes and more. I'm not sure where I should go first with that... so is it okay if I just dump it all in here?
Guest Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Probably the section Technical Support - Sexlab Framework can be more appropriate. It depends if you have problems, or you are asking for help.
RegisteredUser Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 It's really all over the place. How to do something in a mod, if what I'm seeing is normal/expected, installation tips, and one thing is indeed not working as expected. That's why I ultimately decided to just start with the general forum. Regardless of where I offload my questions, some of them are going to be in the wrong place. I'm just cheking if there's forum rules against that sort of thing.
Guest Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I don't think it is against the rules, but probably if you post your questions in the correct place you will get an answer quickly. For example: * How to do something in a mod [a mod you downloaded]: post it in the topic forum for the mod * How to do something in a mod [a mod you are developing]: post it here * Errors and problems with a specific mod: post it in the topic forum for the mod * global errors you don't know the source/cause: Technical Support forum (if it is for Skyrim, or Oblivion, or similar. There are specific tech forums for each game.) Good luck.
commonwealth1 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 You might need to get even more basic like how to set up your game to begin with to get the benefits of these mods without breaking things. Make sure to read everything under the requirements for each mod and make sure it all fits together with any other mods you want to use. Bodies and meshes are somewhat a personal choice but not always... I suggest using Mod Organizer if you want to try out a lot of things, then you can back out of something if the results don't meet your expectations. It does take a lot of reading. Trying out new things is most of the fun anyway.
nutluck Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 If you are brand new to modding I strongly suggest checking out Gophers Beginners guide to modding. You can find it on youtube, it is a 11 part series on how to mod Skyrim. It teaches the basic of how to mod and set things up. It has no LL mods but once you finish the series of video's if you installed mods as you went you will likely have the answers to your questions for mods here. Since a mod is a mod for the most part and if you still do have questions you should have fewer of them and have a better idea how to ask them.

Each of the mods has their own support thread. FIRST AND FOREMOST: Read the original post for the thread again because your question may be addressed there and you can have your answer right away. When you read the Original Post the first time you may not have understood everything mentioned, after experiencing the mod a bit you have a better chance of understanding the topics in that post. Second: Read the posts in at least the last TWO pages of the thread, any CURRENT problems still being addressed are likely to have been found by someone else already and you again may find your answer right away. Third: Search the thread using the forum search to see if the key words you have for the problem can help you find your question and an appropriate answer again without having to wait for someone to answer you directly. Fourth (if you didn't find your answer yet): Post your question on that thread. Questions about that mod answered in other places and other threads like this one DO NOT HELP the average person like the same question asked on the appropriate support thread can. Keeping the questions and answers for a mod in a single location make them easier to find. ---------- Actually these are principles you should follow on just about any mod site like LoversLab, on average they provide the best results in the shortest time.
