Trykz Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 First, I want to apologize for the delay in updates for the Mjana's Labyrinth mod. I'm back at home now, but have been sidetracked completely working on an elf race mod that I want to release as a standalone race mod, as well as include as an option in the Mjana's Labyrinth mod. That said, I'm stuck at a crossroads in the CK.... First, this is where I'm at right now: Basically, I duplicated the Breton race, added the ears as a headpart in the CK, and they appear on the character in game as part of the head. So here's my problem: The ears are set up in nifscope to point to the femalehead.dds, femalehead_msn.dds, femalehead_s, and femalehead_sk.dds textures. I extracted the femalehead.tri file from the Textures.BSA with BSAOpt, and placed it in the faceparts folder. I set up the mesh in the CK to use that .tri file, and the headparts/Breton textures. I then set up the tint colors in the CK, but the ears won't change color to the options I set when I change the skintone (they are identical to the skintone colors). Any ideas where I'm going wrong? TIA, Trykz
Fox Maiden Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Wouldn't it be easier to copy the Judel Elf mod and just copy-paste stuff from the breton race on to the Judel (and deleting the old elf stuff)?
Trykz Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 It's a great race mod, but I'm not real fond of the WoW nightelf ears. I'm going to look into the file structure in the CK though, as I suspect it will tell me where I went wrong which the ear meshes/textures in my mod. Thank you for the lead though
Hynda Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I want to play with this mod, breton is my favorite looking race on males. If you manage to make the males look a bit younger it would be perfect.
Trykz Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 Got the ear tinting issue sorted. Thank you Fox Maiden for pointing me to the Judel mod to find where I went wrong (I actually found the mod here on LL, and after reading through the thread, figured out that I needed to tick the "use solid color" option on the nif). I have some incidental things (like racials and descriptions) to work out in the morning, and then test, and I'll likely be ready to release it in the afternoon. The mod will consist of 2 races in one .esp, with males and females for each. I've settled on the race names "Silvermist" and "Nightshade" for them. They use the Breton and Nord races as a base, with options for either elf or human eye shapes and colors. Even the deep red demon eyes are usable The nice thing is, it uses character mods which you already have installed. Hair, eyes, brows, body, etc.. The only things that get added to the Data folder, is the .esp, and the mesh and textures for the ears Hynda: have you checked Nexus? There's a bunch of mods over there that make males look much better.
