Trouble up the path to Riverwood

Just recently I discovered that I CTD every time I try to go up the path to Riverwood. I really don't have much to go on. I do a lot of installing and uninstalling on a whim, but hardly anything that affect the landscape or leveled lists. I have had crashing like this that resemble this one but somehow the problem fixed itself when I saved repeatedly getting closer to that CTD point.

When the CTD is specific for a place, means that something loading there (or near) is the problem. Assuming you have the Memory patch installing correctly, I would start deactivating the mods that add/change stuff/NPC there. Also, you did run FNIS after installing the animations (easy to forget) and update the bashed patch? Is this happen in a new game?

I just tried starting a new game with Alternate Start. And I crashed as soon as I walked out of the cell. So you are right whatever it is, it has to do with added npcs/creatures/vice versa. And I am done. I simply refuse to put up with this bullshit just for a bit of fun. New plans: much smaller load orders with much less plugins, I think is the definition of happiness for me.

Riverwood, Storm Cloak Capital Docks (Keep getting its name mixed up with the college place), and also Riften Docks area.

 

These are special cases and the most prominent areas where an issue comes up.

 

These area's precisely intersect as many as 5 cell load locations.  You know that place out west in America where you can stand in one spot and your occupying 5 states?

 

Well those 3 places are just like that but in the case of our game, uh its trying to load all the relevant information for the 5 cells all into the games memory.

 

So, its memory issue and its one that has many different fixes.

 

Basically I just try to keep textures at 1K.

Stuff like that.

 

Another thing is that having a lot of dynamic script mods that alter NPC's on the fly is bad considering those locations.  Cause the scripts will attempt to alter not just the npc's that you can see in the immediate area but also NPC's that are well beyond the range of what you can see.

 

Stuff like a higher U-grids to load will cause the issue to become much more prominent.
