SabreTooth Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Greetings, Since the last Skyrim patch, my sound effects have been out of sync as well as some of the graphic effects. I'll draw my weapon, do combat, put my weapon away, then the sound catches up and i hear my weapon draw and then the combat sounds. Same thing for other sounds, i'll jump in some water and then swim and then a bit later as im walking on land ill hear the splash. An example of sound and some graphics, I'll cast sparks and i see the lightning shooting out but no sound, then a bit later i hear the sound and see the effects of the lightning hitting the ground. sometimes the sound will go back in sync, but soon it goes back to the sound lagging behind the action. At first I thought it was Script dragon, but even after the script dragon update I still have the same problems. I'm using windows xp, my sound card is up to date. I've tried setting my sound to different settings (sound card and game settings) and it makes no change with my audio problems in game. I tried turning everything to lowest, graphics, turned music off, etc. Still the same problem. Voices from npc's are fine, in fact if i do a few swings and then talk to the npc, ill hear the weapon swings while the npc is talking. Another thing. I was using the Magicka Sabers mod. When i would draw my weapon there was no sound or blade, then the blade would eventually appear a second or so when the sound finally happened. I uninstalled the mod, but the problem was still there, so I don't think it's the mod that was the cause. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
Ramses Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 System specs. But I suspect your drive is heavily fragmented. If you're low on RAM, the engine can't cache many of the audio files so it has to load them from the drive. My guess...

Patch 1.5 didn't change anything with this problem, but now after 2 or 3 loading screens I crash to desktop.
gregathit Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Sabretooth, You might try lowering your settings because your system barely meets the minimum specs. Turn off shadows and put everything on as low end as you can and see if that is better. If that helps then slowly tweak things back up (only a little at a time) until you start having problems again.
