Hey there folks! I have a question:

How can you succesfully downgrade Skyrim armors into Oblivion? I figured out, that they needed to be placed to Blender, and i have already done that, but i am now stuck. Do you have any idea/know any guide that could help me? Thank you for your time.

That's asking for a lot. I haven't done it myself, but I don't mind trying to help. Might have to try doing it myself just to see what works. I also don't know how Blender works.

1. Import an oblivion armor with skeleton.

2. Delete everything but skeleton, foot:body, and foot:legs.

3. Import desired Skyrim armor without skeleton.

4. Delete the body mesh it comes with.

5. Delete BSDismemberSkinInsstance and Skin from every part of skyrim armor.

6. Mold it to fit around the skeleton and and foot: parts of oblivion.

7. Copy skin (skin wrap) from foot:Body or foot:legs to the Skyrim armor parts.

8. Export with oblivion settings.

Nifskope

Basically you going to need the oblivion armor and you exported work in two seperate nifskope instances to compare what's there and what's not.

1. You could try to replace exported foot:body and foot:legs.

2. Delete BSLightingShader propety for all nitrishapes.

3. Add NiSpecularProperties for you parts that need one.

4. Correct NiTexturing paths.

5. Save.

6. ???

7. Profit.

*Did a quick test, and it works even though I didn't have proper textures. Oblivion armor used had missing feet and hands, so I couldn't line up the shoes, lol. Let me know if I need to be more detailed.

Wow thanks, altough i have some questions :) (as my experience with blender is close to none):

- How can you edit the armor to fit the oblivion one? (ill link a screen on where i have gotten so far)

- How can i deleate those BSDisember files? I had to get rid of them to even fit them into the blender

PS: Here, there is the ss ( hats the rage armor from the vindictus set btw, and those black sticks were supposed to be the skeleton of the previous oblivion armor i think :P

After I was getting bored with Skyrim, I missed some of the armors. They were a huge improvement over the previous elder scrolls, at least "majority" of them were IMO. So after following this guide, I was shocked at how easy it was in 3ds max.

Check out my ebony armor upper body DMRA:

Note the clipping you see in screen shot 2&3 from the left arm plate piece, is because its BBB. Since I never really played Oblivion or modded with it, i'd have to play with it further. This was more of a test to see if this was possible. Now I'm considering doing all the armors :D
