<missing name> Dawnguard and Dragonborn Items

So a lot of the stuff from Dragonborn and Dawnguard all have <missing name> as their name. Meaning, I can't search them via the console cause they won't show up, and I can't loot them either. When I look at my Dragonborn crafting items, none of them have names (well, they say <missing name>).

 

I've crafted a set a Chitin, but it doesn't show up in my inventory. If I use the command "inv" on myself, I can see the item IDs, but they have no names. They are just blank. The only way to equip the item, is to use the command "equipitem" and then the ID and my character will wear it. But I still can't see it in my inventory or anything else.

 

Same issues with Dawnguard stuff too. For instance, Vampire Robes and such. All the vampires I kill, I can see them wearing the outfit, but it's not in any of their inventories. When doing "inv" on them, I can see the ID for it, but it has no name. This was the same problem with the Aetherial items. I crafted the Aetherial Shield during the quest, and I had to use the console to equip it so I could even hang it up cause it doesn't show in my inventory.

 

This is a new bug for me, as I've never had this issue before. I have no idea what could be possibly causing it, so here is my load order and hopefully someone can make sense of this. Thanks.

If you're meaning a Dawnguard_English.string (ditto for Dragonborn and Hearthfires), I don't even have those files in my strings folder. As far as I remember, I never had those files in my strings folder. It's always been just Skyrim_English.string and Update_English.string and that was it (well and the .dlstring and .ilstring as well).

Never said you were useless, no idea where you got that from. Your post didn't really offer any solution or explanation, thus the confused "helpful?" response (edit: and you deleted your response, so I guess it really wasn't helpful then).

 

And if they are in the bsa, then shouldn't have any problems with that then. I have the Dawnguard, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn bsa's.

 

Unless somehow somewhere they got corrupted, and lost some information. Guess I can just delete them and then do a verify via Steam to have them redownloaded to make sure I have working ones.

 

 

Next time instead of saying "I changed my strings to vulcan language", which isn't helpful, you could provide a more clear explanation of what the problem would be.

So deleting the DLC and then redownloading them via Steam with verifying the cache didn't seem to do the trick. Still the same issue regardless.

 

So my only guess is I have a mod somewhere that is altering those specific items (which is a ton of stuff and I don't have anything that does that much modification to both DLCs), or it is something else entirely that I have no idea about.

I know what you wrote, as I saw your post before you deleted it. Thus, the response to your post.

 

 

And that topic doesn't help either. It doesn't offer any kind of solution as to what is causing my problem. Your response that you linked to has nothing to do with my issue, as I don't even use Perkus/Patchus Maximus or whatever that is called. So it's not a common error.

I figured out the issue. It was Dual Sheath Redux.

 

I guess my bsas were corrupted, as the patcher for Dual Sheath had old data in it. So after verifying my cache and getting new bsas, I ran the patcher again and now everything is showing up again.

 

Seeing as Perkus uses a SkyProc patcher, it did kind of help. Would of been easier if you were more direct about it, but I got it figured out regardless.

Just delete everything related to SkyProc and then rerun your patcher. For instance, in your data folder is a SkyProc Patcher folder. Go in there and find your patcher (mine was Dual Sheath Redux), and delete all the folders in your patcher's folder. So all you have is the executable in their folder.

 

Then go into My Documents, under My Games and there is a Skyrim folder there. Inside is a SkyProc folder. Delete that as well.

 

Then run your SkyProc Patcher again like you would normally. That's how I was able to fix it.

Hi again, thank you for getting back to me so soon
I first tryed what you said, but i had no luck with it, so in addition to what you did i also had to delete the Dragonborn.esm/esp (since thats the exp with nordic armor) also deleted skyrim.esm and update.esm, (did not delete them untill i was done, i orignaly put them in a backupfolder on the desktop) then runned verify integrity cache in steam, so it downloaded the files that i had moved, and reinstalled procc, all is fixed
