Loller99 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Hello, the problem is that i am trying to marry but marriage never starts. I am at the right place at the right time, but the fiancee keeps saying he is excited, the guests keep congratulating me, and maramal never starts the ceremony. How to fix that?

Starless Aeon Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Well, that's annoying! Did you try to reset quest via console? resetquest RelationshipMarriage Drop the Amulet of Mara from your inventory. Go to Riften and talk to Maramal. He will start the quest from scratch. It's possible that this doesn't work the first time you try it, and you may have to reload the game. Also, make sure you don't talk to Maramal before you dropped the Amulet of Mara.It's a long shot, I know, but...

Starless Aeon Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I encountered that bug in one of my playthroughs, but i can't remember what I did to solve the problem... Riften in general is always bugy for me. Marriage quest apparently has several bugs, from not being able to start quest at all, bandits showing up on wedding and killing people, random people dying, missing dialogues... Not being able to solve the problem via console commands is not uncommon, but did you install any mods that could mess with marriage quest or spouses, or even dialogues in general? Disable those mods if you have them and restart the quest again. I'm pretty much out of ideas
