My new favorite mod - Tropical Skyrim

No longer do I have to worry about being afraid that my boobs are gonna freeze off while I run around in super skimpy armor, yay!!!

Someone should make a mod for this similar to Frostfell, except with tropical stuff. Ya know. Dehydration. Jungle rot. Getting overheated. That kind of stuff.

Yeah it's pretty nice, but if you want to play the game with it, all the dialogues about snow and ice are too immersion breaking. The whole game doesn't make sense anymore then.

The NPCs have been hitting the Skooma too hard.

Now if someone wanted a giant project they could revoice the entire game to reference the fact that it's tropical and hot as balls out, but that would be way to intensive for such a niche audience.

Or just find a way to edit out only the comments about cold and replace them with another vanilla comment or nothing. Though I have no experience with this so I don't know how much work is involved in doing so.

Or you could consider it sarcasm, since it used to be cold and now its frakkin hot

I was actually thinking about this. It honestly might not be that tough. Like, I remember when I wanted to make a custom elf race but also wanted other races to recognize that I WAS a Wood Elf. Turned out to be super easy and taking like 5 -10 minutes, just editing the dialogues and adding my custom race to the proper places.

No promises, but I will look into this the next time I load up the Creation Kit. Because honestly, Tropical Skyrim is super awesome.

It would be nice with a comprehensive tropical overhaul. This would not be just the "tropical skyrim" mod and the mods needed to actually run it with descent fps but also a better creature setup, better clothing and armors, especially clothing would probably need to be replaced since just modding the clothes seems to be very hard if you want more "topless rather then bottomless" looks. Imagine if farm clothes where just a short skirt with and without a bra top as versions for instance.

An dialog overhaul, not only for the main game but also as a patch for some popular mods like Vilja, stopping her from mentioning skiing growing up in Solhsteim shouldn't be that hard. The coldness in Windhelm may actually still fit if it's seen as a coldness in the people.

Have a reason for Skyrim to have become tropical and have this be supported by some npc's mentioning it and some books around describing this. My suggestion, an alternate reality Skyrim where the Oblivion Crisis tilted Nirn on it's axis. This would also remove the aurora borealis thou.

Normally lightskinned people like nords would have slightly browner skin color due to tanning and so on.

All of that and more neatly collected, at least as links on a single download page and better yet a massive installer or something.

Tropical Skyrim is a wonderful mod, but I found it to be very taxing on my computer and riddled with odd bugs: palm trees floating in the sky, invisible walls around certain areas, horrific lagspikes in the marshes (turn down grass, it fixes it) amongst a few other things. It was very fun to play for a while, but the processing power needed to use it was just too much for my poor little machine.

If I get a better computer that can withstand it, I too would like to grab a Frostfall-like mod just for tropical weather. Even the Elsweyr mod would benefit from it.

My personal experience with it was that it flooded interiors of caves, dungeons, etc with so much flora that it was near impossible to see around it.

It's not quite there, but AceeQ's summer overhaul is very well done and it has around the same style (more or less, the theme from tropical to summer is a huge jump).
