ZetsuboSeishin Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hello, Can anybody help me get rid of the neck seams I keep getting when I am using EBD and Apachi Skyhair together? I want to just change the hairstyles of the female NPCs and not anyone else, but I get neck seams on them when I do. Its really annoying. I tried everything that I could find on the nexus forums and other places and when read the full readme of the EBD page itself. I even tried using the meshes given by the Apachi skyhair overhaul and tried to create the meshes myself but to no avail. If you guys can help me out with this, I can appreciate.
Annabelyoung Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 which body ? UNP? if so try this and see if the problem goes away http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30181/?
Anatriax Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 What that looks like to me is the actors weight has either been changed via console or in CK, and hasn't been exported from CK properly. It's known as the "Grey Face Bug". A simple google search should help you find a solution. If not, I can look for you.

So to fix the gray face bug using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rOXF89QtgYM. I never worked with creation kit before, so yeah I am noob as hell, but I will try to fix it.
D_ManXX2 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 EBD is tricky what options did you select before using the skyproc patcher ??
ZetsuboSeishin Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 EBD is tricky what options did you select before using the skyproc patcher ?? I choose: Main settings -----> Tick change headparts, Enable consistency, Enable Helper script. Head settings ----> Tick change female hair, disable vanilla headparts, disable elderly NPCs, disable NPCs in combat. Height settings --> No change. Texture/Mesh settings ---> No change. Other settings ---> Tick Import Mods on startup.
ZetsuboSeishin Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Creation Kit does thatOpen itClick on folder top left in tool box to DataD/Click cross in box against Skyrim.esmD/click ApachiiHair.esm orMod that has follower (usually I don't)Click on 'Set as Active File" and then OKWill take awhile to load files and InitializingClick yes to allLoading Files...Initializing ReferencesGo to object windowsClick on + box to open ActorsLook down list (depends on race) (I here will nord race, the process is the same for races)Look down list to Nord race click on boxFemale (I selected female)MaleHightlight female - this brings up all women that are of nord raceThis can be done indivually or as one total unit (I will select all)Highlight top of list press shift and highlight bottom of list (all will be highlighted)Press Ctrl and F4 together brings up window to confirm click YESBottom left you will see name of list being ticked off. Wait until completed (more highlighted the more time to do)You can do this to other races before going to C;DriveWhen completed widow box with done shows, click OK (DO NOT CLOSE OUT CREATION KIT)Now go to C;Drive/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data/textures/actors/character/FacGen data/FaceTint/skyrim.esm (shock and horror now remove ALL .dds and .tga Files(this is if you do all of the list(Nord race females) or will only show only the indivual ones that you pick)So delete them and close out of C:DriveBack in Creation Kit save and close out, good to go.This is the process I am trying right now, but I doubt it will work through the mod organizer.

The patcher can't do that, that would require it opening up CK in the process of patching.

Anatriax Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Personally, I would just go with a straight up overhaul for NPC's that doesn't do it randomly. Less issues that way, because the mod author has probably done the CK edits properly. It's less work on your part. But if you're insistant on using EBD, I'm pretty sure all you will have to do is follow the guides to fixing the grey face bug for each affected NPC

If there were any SG hairstyle overhaul mods out there it would have been great, but oh well thanks for your help. I tried to CK edit for each of the NPCs, but you were right they were too much work.
D_ManXX2 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 What happens when you use EBD spell on the afected npc ?? Does that somehow change the color of the face ?? if not try the following command in the console keep the npcs in front of you hit tilde key to console click on the npc and type npcsetweight 100 and see if this fixes the color of the face if it does not. you need to check EBD folders for textures and meshes did you by any chance also installed the texture packs etc.. ?? Also can you post your load order maybe you have mods installed that does not play nice when EBD is installed. Looks like more people where having problems with the grey face what is happening is that EBD cannot find the face textures and will then use vanilla one witch afcourse don't match what you have installed: I finally have this mod working very well. Very nice mod, if you stick with it and have the patience to experiment a little to get things working well.just a few tips that someone might find helpful:1. if you're having the "grey face" issue when trying to use the head parts variation feature (Apachii hair, etc), try creating at least one Texture Pack. It's not clear in the readme whether you need to prepare a texture pack for general use. But, for me, the mod causes the grey face bug if I do not set up a single texture pack before using head variation. It seems (for me) EBD's scripts have difficulty finding the correct head textures without a texture pack.2. if you find it laggy...make sure your chosen character textures are OPTIMIZED. I was having terrible lag which I blamed on this mod. But I finally discovered that most of my lag was caused by unoptimized character textures. My Fair Skin Female texture pack was uncompressed at almost 1GB before optimizing down to 200mb. ouch. Optimization of my mod textures cleared all my lag.3. for Requiem users: place and build your Everybody's Different Skyproc patch AFTER your Requiem Skyproc patch and run the EBD patcher with that order. The EBD patcher will pickup all Requiem character edits and your EBD characters will maintain all Requiem perks and stats....complete with EBD added Apachii hair, random heights, texture variations, etc. ;-) Yeah, I know the rule is to put Requiem for the indifferent.esp very last in your LO, but in this case I can see no problem. TES5Edit proves that nothing is destroyed by the EBD patcher. Thanks for this mod MongoMonk, after some doubts I now see it's a really nice mod indeed. If you could add Armor mesh replacement at some point, that would just make it the ultimate mod ever! If you need the texture pack try here they where already done for you for the one who created EBD: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51638/? you do not need all of it just install 1 that suit your needs and that should clear the face bug. The only reason why that has not been happening to me is because i was already using all textures from EBD.
ZetsuboSeishin Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Man there are so many textures there. I dont even know which one to choose @_@ Damn. All I want is for the females to get the hairstyles from SG hairstyles 268 and not get the grey face error. I like SG better than Apachi now. Well guess I need to mess around a bit more. I am now gonna try to create a texture pack first and see if that works. Update: D_ManXX2's fix worked really well than all the other fixes I have been trying using for the SG hairstyles 268 mod. Though sometimes I get greyfaces for one or two random NPCs randomly. D_ManXX2 Can you give me the steps on how did you create the texture/meshes? I got confused from the EBD readme.
Ashkandii Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 apachii for NPCs is infamous for its Grey faces. i just literally scrapped the idea of using and use the 2k vanillia hairstyle mod (Superior lore friendly hair)
