Hello so recently i've been editing Doomed Valkyrie cause i'd like to have no chains on my armor, i've deleted the chains with nifskope using right click > block > remove on the chains for the files needed but two other items seem to glitch in textures.

Could it be the loading order, i'm pretty new with this stuf. :s

Block - remove is not always a wise thing to do.

Try instead Block - remove branch.

Thanks for the help but it didnt seem to work, do you know the main causes of items not showing their correct textures?

1. Wrong path of texture in nif file

2. Failing to install textures correctly

3. Wrong name of texture file in either nif or dds file

4. Not Archive invalidating - not sure skyrim suffers from this as I haven't moved into moding it much yet :) Still having fun with FNV.

FNV great game  i just noticed that the numbers of Nitrishape change everytime i delete an armor piece so not finding the path to the texture files could be the problem, i'll try to figure out how to get that fixed.

-edit

Managed to fix it by installing it manually, something goes wrong when i install my mod using nexus mod manager and the nif and texture files seem to lose track from eachother.

The changing number is not an issue.

Instead click on the item that has the improper texture (should highlight a NiTriShape) . Expand this item until you see a NiTexturingPoperty. Expand that and you should see a NiSourceTexture. What it displays after the purple flower is the texture path. Verify that this path is correct by using windows explorer to see if indeed the dds files are there (should be located skyrim\data\textures\........)

If there are no dds files that are at the path specified then either you didn't install something correctly or the mod is dependent on another mod to function or the mod maker screwed up and forgot the textures.

EDIT: Another thing could be that the dds files could be in a bsa file but I doubt anyone is doing that yet.

If the dds files are there but named wrong, you can correct the name or go back to nifskope and click on the purple flower and browse to the file and it will auto update. Be sure to save the nif so the change is permenant.

If the nif contains a path that isn't: textures\........... then the mod maker screwed up and you need to click the purple flower and point it at the dds file(s).

A wrong path would be: c:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\skyrim\data\textures. This is wrong simply because not everyone has the mod installed at this exact path and because skyrim will only look at the textures folder and no where else to find textures.
