stalfos81 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 So I'm giving npc's a makeover in the CK and I spot Dravynea the Stoneweaver and her dcuplicate from Dragonborn. Is it fine to just edit the original or will I need to make the duplicate match?
Content Consumer Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I don't think Dravynea is actually in Dragonborn anywhere. Pretty sure she's vanilla only. If I'm right, then if there's a duplicate in Dragonborn it's probably not used. Right click on the NPC and select "use info" and see if there are any references using it...
stalfos81 Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 You'ere right, no uses. I also noticed a that Ahlam (Nazeems's wife) is duplicated in dawnguard with the editor ID DLC1TestAngry. No uses of that npc duplicate, but her AI is set to angry by default. Maybe they are artifacts of cleaning the Dawnguard and Dragonborn esm's (remove ITM's and undelete and disable reference's)

I don't know how the cleaning works, if it does stuff like that. Seems like a dumb thing for a program to do, essentially making duplicates when the whole point is to get rid of potential errors... but what do I know? Maybe it's necessary in some way. What I think more likely is that the devs, when making the DLC itself, just grabbed a random NPC and duplicated them to test stuff out on. It's easier to duplicate an NPC and attach a new script or dialogue for testing than it is to create one from the ground up. Anyway, glad it's sorted.
