NWN: Online Campaign - Looking for Players

Hi everybody! I've been using Lover's Lab for years but this is my first time posting so please be gentle! Anyway, I wanted to put this out there and see if anyone was interested. I'm looking for a couple (probably sticking with two for now) players to try out a Neverwinter Nights Campaign that I will DM. I will make the module and I will control the NPCs. I'm not any kind of amazing module designer but I plan to control as much as I can "on the fly" as the DM. It would be very Roleplay Heavy with combat really taking a back seat. I have a rough story idea completed and I have the beginnings of the module designed. Anyway, I would like to make the whole thing more driven by the players and what they want to do than by me.

 

I've done something like this in the past (when there was a little stronger NWN community) and it was a lot of fun so please let me know if you're interested or have any ideas for me. Thanks!

Hi everybody. I'm trying to organize a new campaign to be played with the Neverwinter Nights video game. This game will be (as much as I can make it) an open world sort of idea. I'm not interested and writing a story and making the players run through it. Instead what I'd like to do is make a world (with a few plot hooks) and see where the players would like to go. I plan for this to be roleplay heavy without a whole lot of combat except when it makes sense and/or when the characters choose to fight.

So far, I have a very rough starting point idea for the story. This could change significantly or be thrown out all together if the players would prefer something else. Also, so far it only fits two players but certainly there's room for more depending on how many people are interested. Anyway, the idea so far is of two sisters. Their parents die when they are 16 and 18 and their parents' belongings are almost entirely sold off to pay outstanding debts. The younger sister is taken to the Parish's Capital and placed in an orphanage there. Unfortunately, the orphanage is infamous for the cruelty of its head matron. The children there are frequently malnourished (especially the older children) and it is not uncommon to hear of the children suffering from disease or even death. To help the younger sister, the older sister makes her way to the capital but uses nearly all of her resources to get there. She arrives, dirty, disheveled, and poor. She spends the night in the gutters of the city, being roused more than once by the town guard before she finds herself in the gritty underbelly of the city. There, a man offers a place to stay for the night and a few pieces of gold too but asks for the young woman's body in exchange. She turns to prostitution for two years, using her hard earned coin to buy food, slipping some through the fence of the orphanage to feed her sister when she can. Neither is happy with her life but for now, it's the best they can manage. 

 

I'm not opposed to having male NPCs but I would like to have only female PCs. The two sisters above are human though I'm not opposed to other PCs being elves or half-elves, etc. so long as they fit in.

This sounds like something I would like to try as well. I love NWN but I mostly play single player modules. I think I would like to try something with other people especially if its roleplay oriented and not combat heavy. Count me in if you don't mind my lack of experience with multiplayer modules!

Thank you both! I'm really just so excited to talk to all of you. I might even need to tweak the module a little to make room for another adventuring fellow since someone sent me a PM about the campaign as well.

 

Would you both mind sending me a PM? I'd love to talk to both and get to know you both. I'd especially like to know if you have any prior roleplaying experience whether it be on forums, chatrooms, games, or whatever else. I'd also really like to know about your own sexual kinks just to be sure we can all get along and have fun together.

 

As for the schedule for the campaign, Tuesday evenings are best for me though I'm flexible. We'll probably need to wait to find out who's interested before we set a firm schedule.

      A hand clad in the forge metals of human smithing extends upwards from the sea of nameless faces. With eyes focused he begins to read the notice. Soon the stoic hand begins to wane as the mimed words fall silently from his lips.

“…without a whole lot of combat…”

“That’s fine” Reassuring himself. “I will simply win thy heart with one’s charismatic personality”

 

With renewed confidence and assurance he continues to read onwards.

 

     It is not until another piece of this request brings back the initial hesitation.

“... I would like to have only female PCs…”

A heavy sigh leaves his lips, with the once confident hand signal fading back below the cranium tide. Taking a few moments to fully come to terms with the information; I single thought comes to mind.

Thank you so much to everyone that has contacted me. I'm taking a short vacation and I won't be home until until Monday. I might get a couple chances to make a quick couple posts but I won't be around much. To those that have already PMed me, thank you and if I haven't gotten back to you yet, I will. I promise.
