GIMP Export settings?

I'm using a bunch of tattoo Racemenu overlays on my followers and I'm kind of getting the feeling its beginning to have a pretty noticeable impact on my performance. Due to this I figured I might just go ahead and put a bunch of the tattoos into one overlay in order to cut down the amount of textures loaded. I've already tried something like this a while back with pubic hair and I ran into some issues with the body being invisible etc. I'm guessing I may have loaded or exported the files wrong somehow.

Basically, what export setting should I use once I place the tattoos in one file and merge the layers? Ohh and when opening a file in GIMP should I check "Load mipmaps" and "Automatically decode YCoCg...?"

Edit: Ohh and I just remembered that last time I did it the exported file ended up being massive.

Compression: BC3 / DTX5 (the same used by DDSOptimizer)

Format: default

Generate mipmaps: checked (if the DDS is at least 64x64 pixel, if it is smaller it does not matter to have mipmaps)

Color selection: default (but here you may have to be sure you are not using color correction for your monitor, if you do, then maybe you want to apply it to the DDS, or it will look weird on different monitors)

Thanks for the response. The exported file size seems about the same as the original now and everything shows up ingame as intended. I don't know what I did last time that made the resulting file 10x larger:D

I have noticed sometimes when I get done altering a texture & I accidentally move the texture just slightly & then export it not realizing I moved the texture, it will not show up in game at all, & also make sure you have merged all layers together before exporting, sometimes that can cause textures to not show up either.

This is just food for thought.. :D
