A Random Dude5 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Ok. Folowing problem: I have hair mods installed, they work fine and don't show any issues, but as soon as i install a new mod (no matter wich one) the hair mod like dissapear or something. Its still in the load order and so but i can't see it when i load up the game and since i don't want to reinstall EVERY mod i have just to get the hair working again i was hoping you guys know what the problem may be. Thanks in advance
Guest tomm434 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Any mod? What if you install mod which overrides vanilla races so custom hairs are no longer in the list ----> Can't be used ----> Dissapear ??
A Random Dude5 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 well i don't think i installed any mods that override vanila races AFTER the hair mod. Like right now i only tried to install the SexoutPositioning mod and positioninswitch or something like that and it still does it. Its literally every mod i install after i used the hair mod in game. And i tried reinstalling only the hair mod but it doesn't seem to work.
prideslayer Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 You could be running into a plugin limit, file limit (loose or inside bsas), or who knows what other limits. There are many in the game and different people run into them at different times. I made a test plugin that can crash the game with just four of them loaded, and nothing in them but unscripted misc item records.
A Random Dude5 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 but wouldn't ALL mods stop working then and not only the hair mod ones?
prideslayer Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 No. What the failure affects and when it occurs is effectively random.
A Random Dude5 Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 so to fix that your saying i should uninstall some other mods?
A Random Dude5 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 So... Should i or is that not gonna work?
shardoom Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 It's going to be your races. NPC (and yourself) can only have a hair 'equipped' if it is listed in their races hair section. (same applies for eyes) If you open up fnvedit you'll probably find you have a lower loaded mod that also alters the races, overriding the alterations made by the hair mod. A simple merged patch is all you need to fix this.
A Random Dude5 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Sorry but i'm not to familiar with the merged patching stuff. What should i do exactly?
shardoom Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Load up all your mods in fnvedit. Once they are all finished loading you need to right click on a mod in the left hand pane, (doesn't matter which you right click on) at the bottom of the menu that pops up you want to navigate to other > create merged patch. At that point you just need to choose a name, 'Merged Patch' makes it easy to recognise. This should merge all of the race edits together for you and fix your hair issue. (As well as likely fixing a FUCK ton of other issues you maybe weren't even aware of)
