Hey guys,

Could someone tell me how to import an animation into 3ds max so that I can make the character body move to a particular position (hand behind back for example) to then freeze frame it so that I can model armour or items with the body in said position?

thanks

First you need to have the hkx file of the animation. So unpack the Skyrim-Animations.bsa. Then you need to export the hkx as a kf file. You can do that by using "hkxcmd" tool. I'm assuming you already have character meshes (or armor mesh) in your max file, you need skeleton too. So, import the skeleton into the mesh. After that, import the animation kf you've created earlier. Now, you can go to the frame you want/delete other keys.

It's that simple, cool.

Yeh I have the body, skeleton and animation files, I just didn't know how to get 3ds max to animate to the point I need and hold the body in the exact position I wanted to then model my armours on.

thanks,

:)
