Susanna the Wicked Corpse

I'd like to modify the way the poor cut up corpse of Susanna the Wicked looks. Here's a pick:

I'm not sure how Skyrim creates the body. I don't see it anywhere in the Data/meshes/actors/character/character assets location. It looks like the corpse is using the vanilla female body nif and adding textures from some location in the textures folder. Anyone have any idea where the textures come from. I don't see anything in the Data/textures/actors/character/female location.

It's probably a texture with a normal map.  A normal map creates the illusion of detail in geometry where there is none.  The textures are probably stored in "Skyrim - Textures.bsa" in the Data folder.  You can open it with BSA unpacker. If you put it in the same heirarchy location in your data folder, you don't need to modify the .bsa - nor would I recommend doing so.  Another way would be to switch the skin to your modified version in the CK.  I've never done that before, though, so I'm not sure how to do it.

I hope that helps.

I found an example of what I'd like to do in the "what mod is this" thread.

The thread is here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/21287-what-mod-is-this-vi/page-253

About the 4th post down by alphav1za, but no one has answered the post as far as I can tell.

WhippinGirl: I've already unpacked the BSA. Guess I should have stated that. That's what I was searching through looking for the meshes and textures. Any idea where the normal map for the corpse texture might be? I've been searching for some time now in the vanilla skyrim textures.....

I just found it.  It's actually an armour object.  If you go to ArmorAddon in the object window in the CK, and type susanna in the filter box, it will come up.  It's located in Meshes/Clothes/Wounds/WoundSusanna_1.nif

If you open that up in nifskope, find NiTriShape and expand it, then somewhere under that, you should find a BSLightingShaderProperty, which has a child node called BSShaderTextureSet, which has all of the textures.

Hope that got it!

Thanks! I never would have thought to look under the clothes section. Here's some pics of the modified body. It's kinda morbid, but I think they look better than the vanilla.

I have a modest ask, you can make your "Susanna the Wicked" upload it here?

I have no idea of modding and I do not know how to do something like this, but so it goes many people.

I've been looking everywhere that I found were the only pictures only, I hate this Susanna (vanilla).

edit: how does your Astrid? Astrid burned body texture. ;)

Vanilla.

winny257 here's a link to my modified Susanna nifs. They are CBBE so you'll need those textures. I only modified the wounds to the CBBE body in blender to get the look that I showed in the pics.

Since I use CBBE I use this texture fix with the Astrid burned body.

Many thanks for your Susanna, I'll test it tonight.

for Astrid I also use this texture, is compatible with CHSBHC

but I find this better because the body is not completely burned, which is more realistic.

Edit: but unfortunately only for UNP. :(
I needed a modder of these for CBBE and CHSBHC converted. ;)

WhippinGirl, the only way I know how to change the specularity is to change the "glossiness" feature in nifskope under the BSLightingShaderProperties. The vanilla wounds glossiness were set to 80. So I set them to the default of 30, but they're still really bright. I looked at the textures in Gimp and they don't seem to have all the bright glossy white that my nifs seem to have. I don't use any ENB's. I think it may have to so with the femalebody_1_s.dds texture that I use. It's the snow leopard skin gloss that I got from this thread: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/4638-the-best-oily-skin-mod/. I love that gloss feature so I'm not about to change that. Perhaps messing with the NiAlphaProerties will change the results?

a pity it does not work for me, I always get a CTD! :(

it is probably at my (body + skeleton) that I use. I use CHSBHC + BBP skeleton.

Sorry you had a CTD. I have a standard body mesh that has breast, butt, belly bones added that I use in all my armor and clothing modding. It requires the XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended. This will most likely fix the CTD.

You do not have to apologize, I knew that I get a CTD. most use in a CBBE body, the XP32, but I not.

I have a skeleton from another game, it's better than HDT physics!

but unfortunately this skeleton protected by copyright, this is why I want to use no other skeleton. the only problem at this skeleton, it has no belly bones.

Edit: when I use my body in your copy, then I have no CTD.

but it lacks the injuries (scars).

Try changing the specular colour instead.  Set it to a below-middle gray.  I'm not totally sure that will work, but it should.

It helped. I think you've pointed me in the right direction. I'll keep tinkering with it. I noticed some of her wounds are sort of floating on her left leg. It still need some work, yet all in all I'm pretty pleased with the results. Thanks for all your help! I'm going to consider this topic solved!
