Modding the Sofia Follower Mod

Guys, Sofia is such a robust follower character that I wanted to play through the whole game again with her as a companion just to hear all of her dialogue and build a relationship with her, leading all the way to marriage and her spending all the Dragonborn's money :)

But I want her to look just a certain way. I've tried (unsuccessfully) to change a few things on her, by either swapping loose files in her meshes folder, adjusting things in the Creation Kit, or repainting face tints in Photoshop. Still, I keep fucking her up.

Really all I want to do is the following:

1. Give her a new hair (one of the hDT physics hairs from another mod)
2. Change her hair color (to an auburn or chestnut)
3. Change her skin tone (to a nice tanned skin)
4. Change her body shape (to have nice big breasts using the heaviest 100 weight of my custom CBBE BodySlide shape)

I was able to use the CK to adjust her stats and make her weaker (I hate how most followers are so overpowered), but that is about it. Once I mess with her skin tone or hair and save the .esp, when I go back to Skyrim her eyes have moved in her head, and her face tint no longer matches her body. Additionally, just swapping out the femalebody_0.nif and femalebody_1.nif from my CBBE custom body (built using BodySlide) and overwriting her shape doesn't give her the biggest boobs because, in the CK, her weight is listed at 50. And if I change that in the CK (or if I use setnpcweight 100) it also fucks up her face (not to mention, produces a huge gap where at her neck and wrists).

I have tried the Sofia Customizer mod, and that was useful for giving her nice teeth, eyes, and skin, etc. But it can only really do those things (in addition to changing the body type, but not its weight).

I'm looking for a detailed walkthrough of steps to complete the 4 listed objectives so I can have a Sofia that is more aesthetically pleasing to me for my game. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Sofia mod page has a nice video about how to change Sofia yourself with different textures and such. To do more you might have to create a custom PC with ECE or RM and then export it and then put that information into the Sofia file.

I have never tried anything like this so i have no idea how hard it would be or if it is possible, but it seems like the way to start.

Because of her complex character, I'd be worried I'd mess something up altering her .esp with anything I import, since she has all that dialog and AI scripting, even custom animations. I don't know enough about Creation Kit to guarantee I'd not break her.

So the character's weight in her .esp is 50, and even when I change her weight to 100 in the CK, she stays at 50 in the game. Does anyone know why this is? Is it because she's already with me in the game? I tried using the console to /disable and then /enable and no change.

I did manage to get a nice bronze skin to her by more or less dumb luck and trial and error. I painted her face tint masks in Photoshop to match the body color I selected in the CK, and had to fiddle with it until it blended, but it worked. So that's ONE thing done, lol.

Yeah you have need to use the loose version of her, there is a BSA and loose version of the main mod. If you use the lose one you should be able to change things in the data files. As I mentioned the mod author has a video about how to change her appearance using the loose version of the mod.

Even if you break her, you can just delete your modified esp and download it fresh.

I haven't used that follower specifically, but I made changes to Arissa and other npcs without any trouble. When you make changes to the actor in the CK you often have to export the facegen again, by selecting Sofia in the actors menu and hitting CTRL + F4. It's referred to as the 'grey face bug' if you want to google it.

As for the weight, I believe character weight is saved in your save game file. If you don't want to start a new game I would try 'setnpcweight 100' (or whatever you set her weight to in the CK) with Sofia selected in the console. This could possibly mess up her face tint again temporarily, but it should be fixed with 'recycleactor' then 'moveto player' or changing zones a few times, otherwise save, close the game down completely and reload.

Thanks, I have the loose file version. It's how I've been working with the NPC to begin with. And unfortunately those videos are useless, as they are all things I already know how to do. He doesn't address the things I still want to do, which are changing her hair (which I can do in the CK, but it destroys her face) and increasing her breast size (which again is something I can do in the CK, but it destroys her face).

I'll try the exporting facegen data suggestion from Levionte and see if that works. Thanks.
