Missing uv layout when exporting nif from blender

So - I finally got everything to work for me. I edited a vanilla mesh in blender and successfully exported it into bodyslide, weighted it and had it ingame... except, no textures, totally black.  I fiddled around with different reasons for this in nifskope, but found no issues, so in desperation, I re imported my edited mesh into blender and found that the uv unwrap was non-existent...

HOW THE HECK do I export a nif from blender and keep the unwrap? I've tried everything I can think of, even trying assigning materials, but all that did was make the mesh invisible in skyrim for some reason. - I used this tutorial: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15690/?

Thanks.

I do have vertex colors set to yes, and I can display textures on the model properly while viewing in blender so there is a uv layout... my issue is why doesn't is save the layout?

because you forgot something

if you forgot to add a material before exporting the nif, the mesh won't have a uv map

if you forgot to add a skeleton, the mesh won't have a bsdismember

if you forgot vertex color for a body part mesh, it's black in game

I've tried a whole bunch of stuff, nothing effects it in any way.

I have materials applied, there is a skeleton, and vertex colors are enabled...

I am so frustrated with this by now...  :@

Any other ideas people - or heck, I could always upload the nif somewhere and someone could take a look at it and tell me what stupid thing I'm doing, if they felt so inclined...
