timompet Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hello all, I have a problem.. You see, I'm trying to get a little naughty and use sex addict mod but because I'm playing the game on mac, I can't execute the application called " Generate FNIS for Users ". So, whenever I try to screw someone, character and the victim are just standing there and there is only sound. How can I use that fnis thingy ? If there is no way to use it, how can I alter my animations ? Is there any other animations pack online ? Please let me know. I've been trying to solve this for about a week now, I've tried everything. I've even installed windows on my mac in order to get all the files I need from the program and put them back in the DATA folder. I've tried wine but it basically does nothing.. I'm desperate =/ Thank you all in advance !
Darlunydd Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Use Wineskin, it should work as FNIS is a .EXE file.Look up some tutorials (there's plenty of support for it, so no stress) and create a wineskin wrapper. It might default to something called "MyCoolWrapper" or something along those lines.Once you've created it, right click on FNIS, and use the "open with" option, and then start to type "MyCoolWrapper" (or whatever you called your wrapper), select it, and then off you go! Wineskin doesn't do everything correctly, but seeing as all FNIS does is essentially validate files, and shift stuff around, you shouldn't have any issues using it
timompet Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 It doesn't run the .exe =/ Either I'm doing something wrong, or FNIS is not compatible with wineskin.. I'll keep trying, thanks for you response =)
Darlunydd Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 No worries, sorry it's not working. To be honest, the only real .exe use I've got out of wineskin was for Installers and stuff, so I was kind of biting the bullet suggesting it'd work Best of luck though, and hopefully someone else can find a working solution for the issue!
bahow Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Maybe you could run the generator from another PC and then copy the behaviour files to your own Skyrim directory.
chajapa Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 WAit.... you're playing Skyrim in OS X? I'm on a mac mini, but I boot camp into Win7 to run Skyrim. How are you playing it on the mac in OS X?
WraithSlayer Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Maybe you could run the generator from another PC and then copy the behaviour files to your own Skyrim directory. Or if you can access the Skyrim directory from Windows, just run FNIS directly. (not sure what format system Mac uses, you may need a third party program to allow Windows to read it)

(not sure what format system Mac uses, you may need a third party program to allow Windows to read it) OS X is like a highly modified version of BSD Darwin... think linux... so it really doesn't run windows executables natively at all. I have Parallels for those things that will run in a virtualized windows environment and Boot Camp for those that need a native windows-on-hardware environment. Virtualizing anything that has the graphics demands of Skyrim probably won't work well. At least that has been my experience.
agent57 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The fnis generator requires .net 4.0 to work. Installing that into wineskin is quite tricky (winetricks only installs up to .net 2 IIRC). However there is a pre made wrapper with .net 4 at http://portingteam.com/files/file/7848-microsoft-net-40-full/. It's reported as being broken ATM, but you might be able to get it to work if you can manually source the .net 4 installer of the MS website. No guarantees though.

My suggestion was the other way around: accessing the Skyrim directory while in Windows, and running FNIS in its native environment. Since FNIS only needs to be in the correct directory to do its thing, this should work just fine and the only hurdle is getting WIndows to read the Mac partition Skyrim is installed on.
agent57 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 WAit.... you're playing Skyrim in OS X? I'm on a mac mini, but I boot camp into Win7 to run Skyrim. How are you playing it on the mac in OS X? You can use wineskin for this: http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads In a nutshell, it's a clean room implementation of the win32 core libraries. This allows OSX to run windows code as if it was native. It's not perfect though, some functions are still missing ( eg// .net ). However in some cases you can download the official libraries from microsoft and install it into wineskin to "fill in the gaps". All of this is fully legal BTW ( in fact microsoft have to provide them with the full api documentation under the eu antitrust legislation.) Anyways, to install skyrim on OS X, you first need to install the windows version of steam into wineskin. Once that is done, you then use it to install skyrim. The hardest part would then be to mod it, as you really can only do this by hand. Interestingly enough though, MO is written using qt and is open source, so making a mac version is feasible ( but probably very time consuming! ).
