angeltenrih Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Greetings all; So as the subject of the thread implies, I have recently stumbled upon the mod "Naked_apron". Taking a look at the supplied screenshot, it's not a wonder that I was insistent on adding it to my collection right away. However, after trying to run it, upon donning the clothing, my character's body disappears completely, with the only indicator that there was anything ever there are two disembodied arms, a head, and an apron draped over an invisible bust. Needless to say, I'm a little perturbed. I've attempted to put the meshes and textures in their locations individually, hoping that maybe I made a mistake in simply dragging-and-dropping, but that doesn't seem to fix it either. What I'm lead to believe is that perhaps there is a missing mesh requirement that I'm not aware of. The problem is, if I'm not aware of it, how can I find it? I will note that there is a readme supplied in the compressed package. Unfortunately, it's a mish-mash of jumbled characters to me, so I was hoping someone else might have more luck in reading it so they can figure out just what it is that I'm missing. As an added incentive, if you can open up the Naked_apron mod and see the screenshots, you'll want to figure out the missing meshes too! Much thanks to any and all responders.
gregathit Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 The problem is whoever made the mod was sloppy. They put a full path that assumes you have a mod installed the exact way they do (not sure I ever heard of a program files folder on a D:\ unless it was some kind of a dual boot system). The path for the textures they listed was d:\program files\bethesda softworks\oblivion\data\textures\characters\imperial\female\footfemale.dds What it needs to be is: textures\characters\imperial\female\footfemale.dds You will need to go in and alter the texture path via nifskope for each of the 15 aprons if you want to see your body show up.
angeltenrih Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Ah, so that's what it is. No wonder it was so difficult to figure out. I do appreciate your help on this matter, and even going so far as to track down the particular error itself. So I'll need to get another program to solve this. It's an inconvenience, but a minor one. There is, however, one other concern; if the texture it calls up is imperial\female\footfemale.dds, will that mean that the texture will turn up pale? What I mean is that my particular character is a Diablo Chocolate Elf, so would the apron look "off" on her? Thanks again for your help on this.

[/quote'] Yes, because the mod maker was a bit sloppy when he did the texture pathing, that will be the only way to fix it. No, your choco elf should be fine. Think of the imperial more like the default.
angeltenrih Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Fair enough. Thank you, kind sir. Do speak up if you feel I have the skills to return your great service.

Haha, quite kind of you to offer, but I managed to fix it myself. I admit I'm not too good with Nifskope and the Construction Set, but I'm learning. Once again, thank you.

It is actually best that you learn to fix things yourself as there lots of mods that this type of thing happens. I will leave the link up if you have issues with your fix. Cheers.
Guest GingerTom Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 gregathit: not sure I ever heard of a program files folder on a D:\ I have Oblivion under 'Program Files' on D:\ (Which is why I probably shouldn't try to give advice to anybody since I do 'everything' differently.)
