Sacremas Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Okay so the Romance Mod has been getting good reviews and looks very interesting (though obviously there's no way it can be as good as LL's own absolutely awesome Amorous Adventures) and I was planning on going through it... but here's the problem, it's all innuendos and nothing of the "I got to make love to you right now!" ever actually leads to anything. Would anyone be interested in changing that, or are anyone working on it? Basically only thing I'm looking for is sexlab callouts wherever appropriate for the sex scenes, otherwise let the mod work as intended, no introducing bandit gangbangs or whatever unless they're already in the mod. Note that I'm not asking for such a change tomorrow, I'm good with waiting for 2016/17 with playing this if someone will just say "Sure I'll try it whenever I have time for it." I have absolutely no modding experience on my own and comically horrible technical skills and understanding, just to close off the 'just do it yourself' comment. And yes I'm aware I could just use Puppet Master or Match Maker to just force the scene on my own where appropriate but I'm looking for the more immersive option.

Honestly, I was not at all impressed with the Nexus Romance Mod and I really, really wanted to like it, since it supposedly offered 1) A Male follower with a personality and 2) some in-game relationship. Unfortunately, the mod's 'romance' runs kind of like this, A) Meet Male Follower (Bishop). B ) Bishop mocks/ridicules/berates player during their intro... C) Player does a favor for Bishop (this is after Bishop himself makes fun of doing random quests for random people.) D) Bishop proceeds to 'want' Player, and calls her special. E) And that's Romance... That was about it. Along the way, there is some very uninspired dialogue, and a few absolutely nonsensical side characters. A quick example is Neeshka who appears at the bannered mare and proceeds to beg Bishop for sex, I am not kidding, that happened. You never learn who this Neeshka person is, or why/how she met Bishop, she's just there. That really about sums up the writing quality in this mod. I don't usually come down this hard on mods/modders, but I just feel so let down by it, and I can't help but feel amazingly frustrated by the wasted potential. Edit: Also, the 'Flirt' options are available from the get-go, and have no impact whatsoever on the Romance. So for example, from the moment the player recruits Bishop, it is possible to begin making out, 'showing off my curves,' etc.., These options do not unlock, they are just there.
Carida Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 You know, I really can't agree with you, for one it's a beta, for two his personality is much the same in many a romance novel, so it's both familiar and amusing, but admittedly up to personal taste. For two there was much more, you can go on dates, have two guys fight over you, go to the ball, have progressive interaction. I personally had a lot of fun. The voice acting is wonderful, and his commentary on your journeys add color and laughter, or at least it did for me. So I don't really think there is need to come down so hard, especially when they have worked so hard and are fully open to suggestions and have already started to implement them. So there we are. (Which isn't bad in itself, although I would prefer otherwise.)
Sacremas Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 "Bishop" and "Neeshka" were both party members in Neverwinter Nights 2, that's probably what that encounter refers to. Reserving my judgement until I play it. Not being a girl or gay, just interested in some actual story, there's a good chance the romance stuff will fall flat for me as well.
