Kara
This is really cool, I've always wanted to get into this sort of stuff but the startup cost is mind bogglingly high. Thanks for this, and thanks to DAZ 3D Link to comment
Saru
You don't really want to work with DAZ Studio though, there's a reason they're giving it away for free. It's... well, uh. It's shit. If you're a student you can get a free 3year license for every autodesk product, be that 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage or Mudbox or anything else really, here: students.autodesk.com/?nd=register If you aren't a student, well there's still Blender which is completely free, and has a big documentation and tutorials on pretty much every topic. It still sucks (oh god the interface), but it's way better than any DAZ product you'll ever own. Link to comment
tekryder
Can't be too bad for free, something to learn on to get the basics down. I learned how to photoshop from an old basic edition of paintshop pro back in the day. Link to comment

I primarily use Maya and 3ds but I learned modeling a long time ago on Lightwave and Bryce 3d. Any how Daz Studio is not a bad toy for playing around with, if your knowledge is limited. That said free is free for those that got it before today. Kara, hope you have fun with it... Link to comment

FusRoDah
Seems Interesting. Is this better than Blender? Link to comment
Rosewind
Ummmm not like blender where you make things, well one of the software you can but no it's more for making 3d art then objects for games like skyrim and fallout. Link to comment

[/quote'] If you're into Second Life, Hexagon is one of the few 3d packages that support native sculpties. Far easier on a production schedule than Blender though, of course, Blender remains a more powerful tool. Second Life has since moved onto "mesh" using collada format now though so this support may be outdated. Honestly though, I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth... downloading. More tools are always welcomed. Link to comment
Rosewind
That's what I thought it's adds up to almost 1k worth of software hell yeah I am going to get it. Link to comment
FusRoDah
Ashampoo had a HUGE free giveaway a few years back, Which gave you lifetime keys for-evaaaarrrrr, If this works through keys, I might as well reap the reward even though it's unlikely I'll use it. Link to comment
Rosewind
Yeah you need a key to load it not install it though. They dont ask for credit cards or anything so I am assuming it's free for life. They probably make more money off the accessories then the software. Link to comment
Rosewind
Sorry have to show some one I am so proud after more messing around I came up with this: Link to comment
