Starting from scratch

Recommended Posts

I've just begin to put things on, and as the confusion mounts, I figured it best to get direction from people who *probably* know a little better what the proper order to do thingsin, the fast and safe way, rather than blindly downloading all the required mods and trying to fumble through all of the install guides.

Papryus attached, took me two tries to get it (It created the folder structure but didnt leave a log, weird)

Currently, I only have skyrim, USP and UDP, the built in Update, SexLab and MatchMaker active, but MM, as I've read around, just keeps saying "Spell fizzled", but as far as I can tell, the game is completely vanilla with the exception I have two nifty but incredibly inert spells.

I did the FNIS update, and it did detect SexLab. Didn't tick any of the boxes at the bottom, as I didn't see any of them mentioned in anything I had currently installed, and I have a habit of updating it after every change I've attempted.

Also, just for reference, here's the other mods I'm aiming to install, based on what seems to NOT conflict with one another:

Defeat, Skyrim Bound, Submit Devious Devices Progression DAYMOYL, and Devious Captures

So once we can get the basic stuff working, I could use some help with these ;_;

I've looked at the FAQ a little, and tried to get two friends to help me but I felt it wa best to stop before I actually screwed something up horribly wrong and ask the community.

Bonus points if you can help live- I've got Steam, if anyone's got time. (Will be up for the next four hours or so, otherwise will have to wait until tomorrow)

Edit: Holy crap how did I miss I accidentally doubled all my text? xD

Could you confirm that you have SkyUI and the latest version of SKSE?

Also, if you are testing the spells with creatures you'll need the FNIS Creature Pack and should check Allow Creatures in the SexLab MCM.

I do have SkyUI, but the first time I tried to load, it crashed. Admittedly, I neglected to try booting it with SKSE. And I do have the latest version of SKSE, 1.71, but not the 1.72 beta build.

Also, the MCM... To be brutally honest, you've got me buggered with that one. Maybe it's because I haven't done squat with Skyrim for over a year but I can't for the life of me figure out what that is at the moment. But for the time being I'm only testing it on humans though, unless they count as creatures o3o

Also for clarification, I'm using NMM since MO kept trying to install using the admin profile, and since I haven't run Skyrim on that profile there was no INI file so... yeah... (I don't need to have SKSE activated on NMM, do I, since its what I use to boot the game?)

MCM is the Mod Configuration Menu, a feature made available with a successful installation of SkyUI and accessible in-game through the escape menu. This is where you would configure SexLab and a whole lot of other mods.

You must always launch Skyrim with the SKSE loader. Launching through NMM I seem to recall there being a drop-down selection that included launching vanilla Skyrim and SKSE. If in doubt you can create a shortcut to the skse_loader.exe which you'll find in the Skyrim folder.

If you are launching with SKSE and are still not seeing the MCM then I would recommend reinstalling SKSE and SkyUI.

Ah there we go, seems my game hasn't patched right, got error code 1 so I'll need to get it patched, hopefully that will solve the majority of the problems xD

Will check back later on when I start slapping stuff on and it all goes to hell

Also, clarification, I'm loading using NMM, bu I can still just use the SKSE shortcut and it'll load fine. (Actually I should double-check that by running it through NMM...)

Edit: *Ahem*

12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: WOAH
12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: SKSE IS DRUNK
12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: I JUST REALIZED
12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: SOMETHING WENT HORRIBLY AWRY
12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: >Pause menu
12:00 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: >1.9.32.0.8 (SKSE 1.7.1 rel 46)

...
12:01 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: I load my game and SkyUI says
12:01 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: Skyrim isn't 1.9.32, and SKSE isn't working
12:02 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: >Its 1.9.32 and SKSE is working
12:02 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: SOMETHING
12:02 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: IS DRUNK
12:02 PM - Kattflickan 『(絶対領域』: HELP I HAVE RUSSIANS IN MY CODE

So it seems my game is patched right, and SKSE is working... but I have gemlins somewhere...

Do  I hafta do a hard reinstall and put on like, just the official stuff, the unofficial patches, then JUST SkyUI, then SexLab and FNIS? ;__;
