Screenshot help

Looking for some tips for taking character screenshots, I have the following questions.

1. I use DYNAVISION Dynamic DoF and when I zoom out too far with tfc my character(s) get blurry. Is there a way to keep them in focus using this mod? My only solution so far is to set the fov way low and lower the DoF strength. Anything I can do about this without resorting to lower DoF?

2. When I use tcl to align my character to an object and then tfc to move the camera it's as if I typed tcl again as my character gets pushed away from the object. Can I prevent that from happening? Another issue with tcl is when I get too close to an object I just disappear completely.

3. I use the UNP body and Better Males and I notice that a lot of poses/animations bend and distort the meshes pretty bad. Is there anything to be done about that? I assume its just the nature of skinning and weighting but I might as well ask.

4. Speaking of FoV, what is an ideal value for screenshots of characters and landscapes? Any other tips for making the best screenshots would be nice (console commands, mods, locations etc).

Thank you

1. Don't use Dynavision for screenshot artwork. Some ENBs like The Grim and Somber ENBs have an in-game GUI so you can toggle the DoF on/off or adjust settings.

2. Use "TFC 1", this freezes most things in place (some animations like running water will proceed). You can then click left/right mouse to move the camera up/down.

For proper alignment there are mods, or just use the "getpos" and "setpos" command to do this manually (more on this in the link at the bottom)

Also "tcl" will toggle collision for your character, but make sure you have yourself selected in the console and NOT other NPCs (this might fuck up your savegame).

3. Usually problems with the poses themselves. Some poses are only useful from certain angles where you don't see the glitches. Or they are made for another skeleton (like XMPS 0.93 or XP32 perfect 3-2), or another body shape.

4. Depends. I mostly use a fov of ~30 for anything close to characters. Above ~45° gets too much distortion for close-ups, unless you want to create a special dramatic scene.

If you want PoV shots for SexLab, use "Immersive First Person" and there's a SexLab plugin somewhere here on LL.

For landscape you can try much more like up to 90°:

To tweak the landscape like in these pictures without having to use unplayable uGrid settings, check out Skyrim Graphics Guide by FireFreak111. These images are actually done with uGrids=7 or 9 and not even all the LoD mods and tweaks from that guide.

And i recommend this site to quickly learn the basic of stuff like image composition, console commands and much more: TESgeneral - Screenshot-Fu

Additionally i use Minimal HUD which allows you to save a profile to hide all UI elements.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, so I just installed an ENB and man does it kill my frames. I even looked for one that features only DoF and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Oh well I still get consistent 20-30 fps which is ok for screenshots I suppose. Thanks again sir.

Well you can always exchange the ENB presets, so you can have one for artwork and one for playing. Make sure you follow all the install instructions for ENBs, or there might be problems.

Hope we can see some nice images from you soon :)
