Womb Raider Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I've seen a lot of our favorite modders struggle with problems in RL and as a result, abandon any work they've started here on LL. It may not always be a financial problem but people put a lot of work into their stuff here so my questions is. When I look at popular mods and see the download count at 100k or something that seems relatively popular, and then find out that the author had to scrap the project because of some unknown reason. It may not always be a financial issue that people are having but it makes me wonder if we could set up a donation system or something for people on here. Sexout Breeder was one of my favorite mods and User29 is dealing with some stuff right now, I'm not entirely sure what it is and it's not really any of my business. But I do recognize people's hard work, and I'm not sure if it's against Bethesda's code of conduct to pay people for their in-game mods. But I would be more than willing to make small donations if it kept people at their work, if it is in fact what people enjoy doing. But uhhhhh yeah. Edit: meant to post this in Fallout General Discussion... Oh well...
Guest Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Not too sure about here, but it certainly isn't against Beth's code of conduct to donate to mod authors. It is against the rules however for mod authors to charge users for extra features. E.g. "Give me X amount of money and I'll add this this and this."

That would make sense, I wonder why LL or even nexus hasn't set anything up like that.

Setekh Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 As long as it is completely obligatory then I see no issue. As soon as mod authors start charging for support or feature additions then that's where things go bad.
