Adding bone weights to underwear with Outfit Studio

I read through a bunch of the archives but I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

So, what I do is load my nif file with the clothing meshes already intact. I've downloaded an underwear mesh I'd like to add to the body. So I import the mesh as an obj.

But when i go to save the nif it says the bone weights have not been assigned. So I go into the bone section and paint the underwear red. But when I go to save the file it's the same problem.

How do I mesh the underwear to the body?

Load a reference first, then load the underwear as outfit. Then select the underwear and on shape choose copy bone weights.

Thanks for your help! I tried it out and it did work. However, I still get the error message for some weird reason.

I used boots so that I could make the screenshots rated G. Can you tell me why I;m getting the error message?

I usually get that because a small spot in the mesh is really unweighted. The spot will be masked, memorize the masked part. Now click on bones tab in the right side of outfit studio and check what bone weights the part of the mesh simmetrical to the masked part by selecting bone by bone and seeing what bone affect the color of the simmetric part. If it's bone with a pair (like R Calf, LHand, etc) you simply select the simmetric bone and paint a bit of weight to the masked part. If it is a "central bone (spine, pelvis, etc), with that same bone selected paint a bit of weight to the masked area. That's what I do and it works 90% of the times.

If the mask is too small to see (might be just 1 vertice). Instead of clearing the mak, try invert mask. The whole mesh will be masked and darkened and only the spot to be weighted will be clear.

Thanks again for your suggestions. They all worked well. One more question though:

While testing the underwear on a model I found that the texture often does not show at first glance and the model appears naked, but as I pan the camera the texture will appear and disappear. I obviously want the underwear to stay on since I don't want to play some kind of peek-a-boo game lol. Do you think this is a textures problem or can I do something else?
