Whips not equipping properly issue

Hey guys :)

I've had this issue for a while but have kinda run out of ideas on what the problem is. It occurs in multiple mods such as Prison Overhaul or SD+ during the whipping scenes, basically the npc who intends to do the whipping often won't actually equip the whip into their hands, and yeah it is equipped as it's visible in their sheath, and they'll just stand there as if they're holding a weapon but not swing. The only way I can fix this ingame is to select them and resurrect them, in which they will then attempt to equip the whip and start actually swinging. I thought this was a PCEA issue but I have disabled that mod and it still happens, I have 1 handed weapons being equipped on characters' backs but I don't think that's the issue either. I have to try removing that again but I am relatively certain I tried that and it didn't sort it out. Apart from what I've said I don't have any other mods that alter the way npcs equip weapons.

This has been plaguing me for a while and I have just been dealing with it, but would actually like to try and get to the bottom of it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Thanks :)

It has to do with the mod not your setup. If the whip is not equipped before the AI package starts it won't do anything as it won't equip it itself. The timing can be a pain to set up, too soon and they will sheath it again, too late and they don't do anything.

You can get them going by having them equip the whip. Click on the person in the console and type equipitem <xx>006001   <xx> = the load order position of ZAZ Animation. That should get them started.

Ah ok, thank you for that info Veladarius :) I wasn't aware that this was a common thing as I hadn't really seen any other mention of it in other posts, so I figured for sure it was just on my end.

Much appreciated, good to know it wasn't my setup as I was racking my brain trying to figure out the cause.
