Vhaltyr Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Anyone know why my character's foreheads have these bars? Preventing me from changing skin colour, and their skin is always grey. Exporting facegen data does NOT work.

Exporting facegen data does NOT work.Untitled.png  This is usually caused by Creation Kit being unable to handle high resolution tintmasks.  You'll need to open the vanilla Skyrim Textures BSA and extract the textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks folder, this contains the base resolution textures. Temporarily rename the same folder in your data folder and drop this one in to replace it. You should now be able to edit the characters in CK and export the facegen data without the bug. When you're done swap the tintmask folders back.
Vhaltyr Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 Thanks, I'll try that now. I thought it was a problem with Mod Organiser since launching the CK normally instead of from MO gets rid of the problem.

I thought it was a problem with Mod Organiser since launching the CK normally instead of from MO gets rid of the problem. This may be because it's able to pull the vanilla tintmasks from the BSAs when there is nothing in the textures folder on the disk to override them. You could be in luck there as this never worked for me. You might be able to skip the extraction process and simply disable the tintmasks folder to get things working.
Vhaltyr Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 I just disabled my mods that edited the tintmasks folder in MO, and finally it fixed itself. Thanks for the advice :3
