What kind of CTD problem is this?

My problem is, when I load up skyrim for the first time in the day I will get a CTD. It does not always gives a CTD, but it usually does. And then if I load it again for the second time, it might also give a CTD but I encountered that twice or once. And then if I load it again on the third time it does not give a CTD and if I load any of my savefile with perfectly different characters from then on while running that instance of skyrim, it never gives a CTD. I have tested this for six months now and this is what happens. I think its weird and cannot really put a mark on what is going wrong here. If can anybody help me out with this, I will appreciate it.

I just wish to know what kind of CTD is this, I mean is it those memory problems? or Is it because I have too many mods installed. I have like 100 mods installed and I think all are basics except for the 3DNPC or Interesting NPCs.

PS: I am confused about what file I should attach so please ask for the files and I shall provide them, sorry.

Pretty sure everyone has this. My guess would be the engine getting overloaded, hence why doing the coc elsweyr trick nearly alwaysworks.

Yeah I figured it should be pretty common. Also can you explain your trick?

CTD on save load is very common if not ubiquitous. The trick is to load a new game then load your save from the escape menu. You can do this by keeping on old save from the beginning of a new game, by using Alternate Start to get into a new game faster, or (as Liberty suggested) open your console at the main menu and enter coc whiterun which will spawn you near Honningbrew Meadery with a default character.

coc is Center on Cell and is used to teleport the PC to various locations using cell codes.

The effect of this in the case of CTDs is not entirely clear but it seems that it allows the game to pre-load assets before applying the weight of all the scripted mods instanced in your save, staggering the loading process to take the pressure off.

I see yeah thats one way to look at it, but how many mods did you guys use at once when encountering this problem? Just wanna check if the number of mods loading affects the instance any way.

Personally, around 200 plugins and probably 100 more sets of replacers. These days I start every session with coc whiterun, for me it's just the normal loading procedure.

It's probably not so much how many mods you have (within reason) but rather what they ask the game to do when loading a save. A mod that just adds armours is going to insert little beyond a few additional refs. Things like Wet & Cold and Aroused on the other hand will be using cloak spells and attaching scripts to actors all over the place each instance of which has to be recorded in your save.

Maybe someone will come up with a solid solution eventually that will let us load a save without worrying about a crash, but even so it really is only a few extra seconds for coc, nothing compared to the frustration of relaunching after a CTD.

Are you using SSME or a well configured SKSE? That sounds like a memory cache overload, I had the same issues in the past both that program en Enb boost fixed it for good, sometimes was memory fault, other were fault of a matter of time why? dunno.

Ya I do have SSME, though after installing SSME I have yet to encounter one of those CTD but that does not mean its fixed, because I have loaded like 7-10 times after installing SSME. I am still gonna wait till I load it about 50 times :)
