More scripts = Better FPS and performance?

Is this even a thing? Do scripts make Skyrim run better? Is my computer weird? Its definitely not a placebo effect. Since my FPS goes UP and I get LESS CTDs.

I can have as less as 50 mods, all with no scripts at all...and get 20-30 FPS and bad CTDS.

I add a bunch of sexlab stuff and other script heavy mods (frostfall/wet and cold)...suddenly my FPS goes to 35-40 FPS, far less if any CTDs...can do high timescale and zoom everywhere and still not crash. My FPS doing this goes down to 25...but no crashing.

Only thing different is the added scripts.

I'm really confused why my attempts of a stable game only happen with heavy script mods.

All using skse memory patch/ENB boost...so nothing is different there. In a script free game, even with those two, I'd get a lot more CTDs and less FPS. I add scripts, suddenly my FPS goes up (using ENB FPS tracker) and no more or very little CTDs.

Do scripts optimize the game or something? Is sexlab somehow make Skyrim run better? Is my PC really weird?

Like I said, same exact mods...but a bunch of script mods added...and suddenly my FPS goes up and less CTDs. Nothing is different except script mods.

I'm just really confused why Skyrim is only stable with script mods for me. From my understanding, heavy script mods make the game worse...but its the opposite for me.

I had a theory. It could be there is a major bottleneck in my hardware somewhere (my CPU is really old, a lot older than my GPU and it was a low end intel brand...but another company actually made it). My ram is old, my hard drive is old and my PSU is as old as my CPU.

It could be, when my PC is under heavier load...and I'm no tech guy or anything...so maybe I'm wrong...

But on normal load/power usage, it bottlenecks itself. While on heavy load, the game goes into a different piece of hardware or something and hence why I see an increase in FPS/less CTDs.

Is that possible at all? Only thing I can think of.

(edit:

Geforce 660GTX 2gb (my best piece of hardware)

i5 CPU 3.3 Ghz (and its a really crappy low end i5, everyone tells me its not...but its a no name brand that made it. It wasn't intel themselves that made it. No really, its a really crappy CPU. I found it once on amazon, and someone else said "oh that is a crappy one".

Windows 7 64bit

8gig DDR3 ram (as old as my CPU)

600 wat PSU (but its as old as my CPU)

Certain mods can fix errors that could lead to CTD (the vanilla game is filled with them), i.e. the unofficial patch, or any mods that fix bugs/errors/optimize your game.

Otherwise, I don't think so. Your PC is haunted. More scripts = your CPU is under a heavier load, therefore it'll load slower, inevitably.

Well, I haven't changed my ENB (was using a different one a while back, but I have one I like better that I've used for many months now). I do use unofficial patches, but I've always used those...so that wouldn't explain it.

I'm using same size textures (1024) as I always used.

My ini settings have always been pretty much the same. I leave it mostly vanilla, slight papyrus tweaks (have left them as they are now for months), add actor/combat for better archery, lowered shadow quality (but make it more blurry that I like better anyway)...but my ini settings haven't changed much. But I guess maybe something I changed could be better. I haven't really touched it though.

In any case...guess my PC likes being overloaded or something.

Maybe its a BDSM PC. :P

problem is somewhere else

my config is similar to yours, amd phenom 3.41 ghz geforce 570 (only 1280 mo) and 8 go ram

with kinematic enb i have 20-40 fps outsitde, and i use a lot of hd textures

if i load the game with only the textures, there's no difference

if i load mo default profile, can't run 10 seconds without freezing, it's the same without enb (unmodified ini, cpu overload)

after disabling those mods, did you load a save that had those mods?

some scripts stay in the save, and if some try to load something they can't, again, and again, and again, it add up and your cpu will overload (game will start freezing, gpu have to wait for the cpu, and that wil lead to a crash after some time)

I always either uninstalled skyrim (removed completely) and reinstalled it or what I should have done that I just started doing...just delete the data folder and save hours upon hours of time reinstalling. Would have saved a lot of bandwidth too :P

I never used the same save either, always made new ones. I figured whether there is save cleaners or not, they aren't 100% (definitely wouldn't rely on them)  and I'd rather start new saves to be 100% sure.

So, I figured it out. I wasn't 100% sure and I didn't want to say anything till I actually tested. But, because I'm using Sexlab and some other large overhauls...LOOT made the game a lot more unstable and a huge loss in FPS.

I used BOSS, manually sorted the unknown mods...20-30 FPS gain and a much more stable game.

Guess in a larger mod list, LOOT does worse.

It explains why my first two overhaul compilations I did worked great, is because I wasn't using LOOT at the time. LOOT wasn't even a thing when I made them.

Ever since I switched to LOOT, even in a small (100 or so esps/esms) mod list...with NO script mods...it must have made my game a lot more unstable.
