FruitLoop Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hello to you lovely people. I hope this is the right forum for this, I've been lurking and downloading Lovers mods for a little while now while trying to learn to mod. Firstly, I really want to say a big thank-you to the modders on this site for taking the tired old games I've been playing to death and injecting something new I never thought I'd ever see in a game outside of Japan. It always seemed off that settings that included adult themes such as killing, maiming and the implied rape of 'victim' NPCs, always avoided explicit sex and the possibility of forcing the player into a non-PC situation. IMHO role-playing games should allow us to explore roles we wouldn't/couldn't do IRL, so if I want to be a pretty girl with an obsession for slaying dragons with big swords or a guy with an obsession for raping girls with big swords, that should be an option. Now thanks to you, the second is! ::evil grin:: So huzzah to you for making the settings a little more lifelike and a lot more interesting! My question/request/beg is, has anyone attempted to port the GND body from Oblivion to Fallout 3/NV? I've been in love with this body ever since I first installed it on Oblivion and would simply **love** to be able to use it for a customised character in Fallout NV. The only other body type I like is the Type 6 (the shoulders on that one are excellent), but I want my next (stealth-based) character to be a little more petite. I've been trying the Dimonized Type 3 Slim and Alice bodies, and while they are very good (especially Alice which I'm currently using) the shoulders are extremely distracting for me. I've been trying to learn Blender so I can attempt to port it myself, but that program has the single most unfriendly interface I've ever used and am on the verge of just giving up with it. I know it's a lot to ask, but would anyone be willing to convert TGND for NV pretty please? ::flutters eyelashes and promises cookies::
Phelps1247 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Did you try backsteppo's narrowed shoulders? Though I'd also like that body for NV since Alice's butt is too big.

Heya, thanks I didn't know about the narrowed shoulders version - I'm downloading it now and am going to give it a whirl.

FruitLoop Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks, I'll take a look later if it will let me (Nexus seems to be having a lot of SQL/connection problems the past few weeks, or it just hates me heh). I've been using the Type 6 for a while, it's beautiful and has great curves and shoulders. From what I can see, that Type 6M seems a little more 'perky' but with similar proportions. I'll definitely try it. I'm quite surprised at the lack of 'teen' type bodies for Fallout 3/NV. I mean, the setting is more appropriate for a teenage character (especially FO3) than Oblivion. Almost all of the bodies I've used so far have been supermodels or barbarians, which works really well in Oblivion but seems a little out of place (IMO of course) for an 18-year old Vault Dweller who's idea of strenuous exercise is lockpicking, pickpocketing other Vault inhabitants and hiding from guards when things go awry. Or a NV Courier who lived on water and light rations for months at a time while sneaking or running away from trouble lol. TBH, I almost never install clothing replacer packs for the bodies (except Type 6 since it had a different neck/body configuration that caused a gap in the default meshes, but I disliked the changes that were made to some of the outfits). BTW, with regard to the TGND request, all I'm requesting is a port of the base meshes, not any clothing replacements or anything.

[/quote'] Just wanted to point out that a body port isn't as trivial as you seem to think, hehe You might have better luck getting someone to modify t6, t6m, t3, t3m, or a specific version of the above like "Alice" than getting a full port of TGND. In fact, given clothing support, getting a compatible t3 conversion would give you the best skin texturing support as well. On another note, teens come in all sizes and shapes... all of the bodies I listed can be "teen" shapes, not just something like TGND. Teenage appearance is more a factor of the head being slightly larger in proportion to the body compared to an adult and a slightly shorter height. You can create a new race and play with height, weight and scaling of body and head to achieve a teen with most any body type. What separates teens from adults is mostly the hairstyles and clothing choices.
Nessa Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 AHEM.... Luchaire's Type V for NV.... Still not quite as good as TGND in my opinion but I'm rather fond of TGND in general.

Phelps1247 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 There's already a teen race with the shojo mod on nexus but no new body. It's called "she". I think his point was the breasts are too big. Even Type V is still C or at least close to. I used Kendo's type V with A-cup textures for my first NV character. TGND is clearly a B. The real one anyway, not the one that comes with setbody, not sure where that came from.

It's a shame Bethesda used different body formats for the Oblivion and Fallout engines, with Oblivion using the seperate upper/lower body sections, different skeletons etc. The T3 is good but lacks the shape I was looking for in the GND. Is it even possible to alter the T3 to resemble the proportions of the GND figure? I really wish I could figure the Blender interface out, I spent 5 hours with it yesterday and all I got was a headache heh. Athletic, but not overly muscular, not so much 'perfect' as 'normal'? Then again, 'normal' depends on the individuals experiences with people around him I guess. Hmm, not sure how to describe it. Anyway, thanks for the input, it's something for me to think about.
FruitLoop Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 AHEM.... Luchaire's Type V for NV.... Still not quite as good as TGND in my opinion but I'm rather fond of TGND in general. Oh me too, it's a beautiful shape. Well, they both are but in different ways hehe. I used the Type V for a little while when trying the Type 3 and 6. It's a nice shape but it suffers from the shoulder issues the Bethesda model and the default Type 3 (but not the Type 6) has. I'd love to give those models a slightly wider back at the top (the lattissimus dorsi area) to try to close up that gap a little and balance out the hips a bit, but Blender has other plans for me involving a mental institution and feeding tubes apparently. Incidentally, I love your modest start mod and always use it for my female characters (which seem to outnumber my male ones now I think of it) so thanks a lot for that!

What the hey I'll FOMOD it and see if it'll work anyway lol. Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't know about that one. Absolutely, a B or perhaps even an A for the 'Perky' mesh. The waist/hip ratio is a lot more subtle on TGND than even the Type 3 Slim or Alice too. edit: The FO3 Shojo mod causes CTD on loading NV unfortunately. Gives me an excuse to fire up FO3 again sometime though lol.
Phelps1247 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I don't think the FO 3 version has that but I never tried it. Shojo is still there for Vegas. There's no nudity by default but I don't know if it's cool to link to on here or not. The BABE bodies from FO 3 work. That comes with A & B. Not the one on Nexus, that's only C but google it. It's at planetfallout or something like that. I played through FO 3 with it so didn't use it again. There's also the skinny body but I don't think that one is really porportioned correctly. Top area is too wide compared to the stomach and legs.
FruitLoop Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 /facepalm... I'd completely forgotten about the BABE bodies, I remember using those on FO3. I should have the old A-cup archive on one of my hard drives somewhere lol. IIRC I had some issues with it on FO3, but it's been a long time since playing it so can't recall what that might have been. Yeah I tried the Skinny 6 one and while the overall shape is quite nice, the shoulders are a lot more prominent due to the rest of the body proportions. It seems to be a common issue with the meshes based on the T3 (besides the narrowed shoulder version ofc), is this because of the underlying skeleton? Thanks for reminding me about the old BABE version though \o/
Mickster Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Yes, the skeleton used in the two fallout games is a joke as far as proportions go.
