A problem with Resident Evil: Progeny

Alright, I don't know if anyone here has played it, nor knows what the hell it is, but I've found nothing on other sites.

I recently downloaded the game, and when I try to launch it, I get an error reading "Error: Cannot read the game file."

Can someone help me find out what is happening? I've redownloaded it 4 times.

Try to change your system settings to japanise. ( don´t remember if applocale was enough for that one).

Are you using Windows 8? Game Maker games from older builds (which RE:P is) were not compatible with Windows 8. There may be a fix though, could try Googling it. If not that, I don't know what to tell you, it runs fine for me. If the version posted on his blog is corrupt or something I could upload my copy to Mega or something for you.

It's a GameMaker game, made by a British guy. Changing to Japanese locale will accomplish nothing (although it would still run, does for me and I am using Japanese unicode setting).

this game work fine if your have win8 try to change compatibility to win98 or win7

Went through every compatibility mode, nothing.
Changed locale, nothing.

Damn, I use to run an older version of it on Windows 7.
