Wheelhouse Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I am suddenly having an issue where when I create a new character, or use my sewerexit save to create a new character, I can not change hair style or eyes on any character at all. This problem does NOT show up when I use the console and showracemenu. It's obviously not gamebreaking, as I can use the console, but I was just wondering what may be causing this, and if it's relatively common?

If I started a new game with more then Oblivion,both expansions, all DLC plus all the unofficial patches, my character was locked into a single hair style. Couldn't select anything at all lol. What mods are active when you create a new character?

What mods are active when you create a new character? [/quote'] Too many. Too many. I do have the UOP installed, and now that I think about it, I don't remember this problem before installing that. Before installing the UOPs, I had a dated (according to BOSS) custom race fix. I could understand that messing up the sewerexit, as that save is a very old one from before the UOP, but new games shouldn't be affected by that old custom fix. I guess my curiosity is raised because /showracemenu works just fine. BTW, this unable to choose hair/eyes without the console is not just for custom races, but also the stock Oblivion ones.

Affected custon and stock races for me. You don't need that custom race fix mod if you have UOP installed. Never figured out what mod was causing the problem for so I just started a new game with just oblivion,expansions,DLC,unofficial patches and custom race mods til I got outside the sewer.

[/quote'] oh, that happens to me, i scroll all the way to playable dremora (wich i modified to be more humanlike, new textures for face and body and reset the face to be normal) then i cannot change hair or eyes..., what to do to fix that? nothing... you need to exit and then showracemenu to change hair and eyes... this happens because of loading an obscenne amount of races... vanilla + beautiful people 2ch + mbp++ + x117 races + from2chlives, that gets me an astonishing amount of races, like 100 or so, way too many for the game to load them properly (a lot of xeos ended with missing stuff and unplayable), console commands are the only workaround about that loading problem

Either that race had no default hair (or eyes?) or possibly invlid hair/eyes in the list. I do remember editing it and all was well. Hope that helps a bit.

Not sure I'll go through and edit each race, since /showracemenu works, but at least it's something I'll maybe one day look at, thanks!
