randompeep Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Well first, let me say I'm not trying to be obnoxious when I say this; the sudden closure of my "help me" thread, was not very appreciated- yes my game is in the program files (x86), however, I never had this problem occur before and I doubt it (folder location) has anything to do with it (because of various UAC modifications, unless there's something I missed). But nonetheless that tip was taken and considered. I would also express more gratitude if this thread remained open a little longer than the last one if necessary. Thankfully (especially to those who responded helpfully) I'm able to save (and load) successfully now without any problems, so long as I do not incorrectly remove something the save considers a dependency (a failure on my part, the whole thing started because of this- I just hadn't realized it). I'm trying to familiarize myself more with such things. Away from that rabbit trail, the game appears to lag significantly when actors are nearby- at such a magnitude that wasn't present weeks ago. I used to be able to run with the war-zones mod activated. However I now had to remove it and ultimately other npc-adding mods I downloaded for the game. I tested inside a player home (markath) and the frame rate was a solid 60, once I spawned 3 actors (via console) the frame rate dropped significantly. Upon reloading the save the frame rate picked up again to 60, before I would average around 47-50 frames with several or even dozens of actors present at once (usually in combat). But as of late the frame rate consistently decreases to unplayable levels: I exited the player home in markath and the frame rate was shrunk between 5-15. I deactivated all mods and ran a clean game, multiple NPCs present (dragonsreach), with zero frame rate impact- even with a graphic modification (something called "I can't believe it's not an ENB" or something). As I understand it, a simple method of troubleshooting could be to activate each mod (within each requirement parameter or dependencies intact) one at a time. So I'm just asking is there anything in my load-order, or anything at all really that could negate performance this badly? LibertyPrime Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Well, I'm not familiar with most the mods on your list, but there are certain mods that run scripts for each individual NPC (i.e. Aroused, some pregnancy mods), which means major FPS drops on areas with several NPCs. I would start by deactivating these.
johann7124 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Did you spawn male or female NPC's? Are you running HDT on the game?
Spyder Arachnid Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 From the previous thread: Using Skyrim Data Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\ What the moderator is telling you is that you are using a pirated version of Skyrim. We don't support piracy here. Read the rules. Get a legal copy and then we can help you.
randompeep Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 I spawned both male and female npcs, and HDT is active. I do have script heavy mods installed I suppose, but it never really gave me this much of a problem. I have a legal copy, but like some other individuals who've experienced a similar problem the retail version has given me issues. I could try retail again, but I'm certain it'll only give me another headache. I have bought Skyrim on both PS3 and PC, with all dlc. The former platform from PSN, however, as I said the actual retail version of Skyrim on PC wasn't playing nicely with me. I've read the rules those rules you've linked already, but I figured that in particular didn't apply to me- because of my faulty legal copy that I still have possession of. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for an argument here. Since some script mods were mentioned in a previous post, I'll try to remove some of them and see if it makes a difference.
Spyder Arachnid Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Regardless, you're using a pirated version of Skyrim. Thus, you'll receive no support here until you are using a legal copy. The rules apply to everyone. There is no special snowflakes just cause you have a "legal copy" stashed away somewhere. Use a legal copy or else you won't get any support here. Simple as that.
DoctaSax Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Appreciated or not, this thread is closing too. There is no telling what was done to a pirated copy of the game to make it ignore drm checks, and often when a bug cannot be explained it turns out it's a pirated copy. Which just wastes the time of everybody trying to help. Second, we don't work for Bethesda, but we sure as hell aren't going to look for trouble either by allowing people to help others with pirated games. Whether you own legal copies or not aside from the pirated one you actually use is none of our concern.
