Edit standalone characters?

Just a simple question. I want to change a standalone character hair how would I do it? I try using the CK, but her asset won't show up. I try coping a mesh from SG hair file, didn't work. I simply just want to change the hair, nothing to do with modig the face.

What character is it? Can you link it? I am curious because not all the followers/characters I've seen are set up the same. Some you can just unzip the file and replace parts then zip it back up. Others can be easily changed with NifSkope.

You could try using NPC editor.
