jimdandy28 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I like this armor set: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=295924446 but would like to make changes to the texture. Both to reduce its size (main armor texture is 3064 with 4096 normal) and to change the "skirt" to red instead of green. The rest of the armor appears normal, I desaturated and resized the boots, and resized the rest of the pieces (helm, gloves) without issue. Even shows up perfectly in game. The chest is the main problem. In Gimp it just shows up as grey/white check pattern squares and just trying to resize (to 2048) causes the texture in game to alternate black/white. Not to mention without being able to view the texture itself in gimp makes recoloring pretty impossible. Any help would be appreciated. Is there another format I should change it to?
Akzyra Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't work with GIMP, so can't help that much. Can you post ingame screens? Grey checker pattern is transparency. And you may be working on the wrong channel. There is RGB and Alpha.
jimdandy28 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 From what I can tell it says I am working in an RGB environment. I too am pretty Gimp stupid as I don't really do much with it. The occasional resize/recolor is about it. I have no idea how to navigate to other layers in the same dds file. This is the first time when looking at armor textures that I have seen the alpha channel be the "top" channel as it were.
