enkephalin07 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Is there something better than Bethesda's Creation Kit? I haven't made a mod since Tes3 because every time I open it I find it's the same horrid piece of shit I hated working with before, and shut it right back down. I can barely believe professional designers use this, but the crippled work-flow does explain why they can't get a finished game out the door. Amateurs have been making better since before Bethesda was founded.

Maybe you could Google if there's some amateur's alternative, then If UESP, S.T.E.P. and Nexus forums don't have it, neither will Google. I guess that's why I felt the need to rant.
Guest Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 that's what I was meaning. I don't think "amateurs could make better", or we would have a lot of other games like Beth's ones, which are so flexible and it's possible to mod them in all the ways we do on FO and TES. Have you ever take a look at some alternatives? few time ago I felt in love for State of Decay, they released some SDK thing so I took a look... after reading a lot of things on forums, I gave up, it seems I need 4 grades in engineering to mod that game. But on a side note, I can tell you this: I sometimes use Oblivion's CS, very little, but still it seems definetely harder for me compared to Fallout's GECK (which I usually use). Then few days ago I opened Skyrim's CK. I did a small worldspace in a bunch of hours. The same work on GECK wasn't be possible, I would have needed at least 5 times the time it took me on CK. At first sight, it really seems more sophisticated and stable, it means they did nice progresses compared to the previous ones, even if at first sight it seems the "same horrid piece of s**t". I think you should really give it a chance.
Rayblue Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 It's the only working editor available, and there are still many ways to make workarounds its limitations. Besides, making a third-party fan-made editor would be difficult, and there are those who claimed they'll make one, but only TES5edit allows me to edit a mod in a hardcore way without opening CK.
