Dragon souls not absorbed - Dragonborn DLC

Hello, 

 

I'm having this problem where dragons do not release their souls anymore, Miraak just stands there and nothing happens. The dragon will stay for some time, then disappears like any other dead thing in Skyrim. The thing is, since Miraak is not absorbing souls, he's not healing as well?

Also, I don't have any mod affecting dragons.

Are you using LOOT to sort your load order? Maybe that can help. Also you should use wrye bash to make a bashed patch to combine the leveled lists and deactivate potencial plugins that can cause problems.

you can kill all dragon before fighting him and he will have his surprise the first time his life get low

 

or you can try another weapon

 

i had no problem the first time, that was with sperg

on another game with skyre i had that, that was because a script didn't like some perk, i switch to 2 hand and no more problem (no perk in 2 hands)

recommend unofficial dragonborn patch. some mods modify the dragon soul absorbtion script and that...well, borks it bad.

As stated above, I do use all the unofficial patches. I also use BOSS for my load order, the patches are sorted correctly already.  Will he stay in his phantom form forever?

Earlier versions of the unofficial patches had a bug which prevents the player from absorbing dragon souls, should be fixed with newer version. There may be some mods which include some outdated versions of the corresponding script.

 

I had the same problem when MO had the Unofficial patched before the DLCs in the mod list (Not the esp list on the right but the mod list on the left in MOs window). Some MO update introduced the "Non-MO" category which includes esp not managed by MO (like DLCs) in the mod list.The default order was completely wrong on my system, causing the soul absorbing problem.

 

 

There is also a fix on nexus as last resort.

Well if you are to strong and kill miraak to fast it breaks his whole battle. I only got through it by getting stark naked and punching him on many of my files.
