Guest Akrabra Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I currently use CBBE for my Skyrim female characters and i mostly like it. It looks decent and the bodyslide tool is amazing. But alot of the animations with sexlab is off, even after using the animation editor, there is also alot of clipping through backs, throats etc. This has made me curious to try out another body mod instead, but as a newbie i have a few questions. The mods that has piqued my interest so far is UNBP and Sevenbase. First questions, does either of these bodies work better with sexlab animations, and the clipping issues?. Second question, how do you go about installing Sevenbase for instance, is it based on UNP?. Does both mods work well with bbp - tbbp support? Are there any decent remodeled armor mods for these bodies?. How is devious devices with these mods?. Other than that if you have suggestions about any other body mods that might work just as well or better then throw them at me. I guess people make these posts alot, but it would really help to see some discussion around it, might help me abit more than just googling stuff. Thanks for your time, for now
fizzybutt Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I use UNPB simply because I like the way it looks asthetically. The one I use has weights patched in and whatnot to make it compatible with xpmse and hdt (probably not done effeciently but it's just for me) Though with SL animations, I think it has more to do with how the animations were originally lined up (And the size/height/weight of the body) than it does with a specific body mesh. I have my height at .94 through racemenu weight at .85 and I have to do some adjustments here and there for everything to line up. Usually that includes fiddling with my SoS settings too x3. My bf makes fun of me because of all the schlongs swinging around in my game and every now and then there's an elephantine one that shows up that has to be ... erm compensated for.
A She-Wolf Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Basically, I think it's a matter of preference. You're not really asking the age-old unsolvable question of which body mod is better, which is probably the way a lot of people will read it, only because they're hyper-aware of that question being asked so many times they can't stand it anymore (and also because they always seem to have their own end-all/beat-all answer to it). No no, you're asking if any body mods might be particularly better than any others with SexLab. And from what I've seen, the real answer is the same as that... other question. It's just a matter of what you like best, UNPB, SevenBase and CBBE all all perfect options, and chances are you'll see some clipping and mismatch on all of them here or there. There's always a bit of a trade-off when switching bodies and no one is actually functionally superior than the other - Simply because the bodies themselves have no function to start. Everything factors in: your HDT version, your XML for that, your version of SexLab, skeleton (huge factor there), your body mesh's weight painting, your character's size, shape, and his/her partners (and the shape of ginormicus pemises like fizzy's whiterun guards or huge-o-mungo bewbies like my girls), how SL Framework reacts to them and blah-dee-blah-on-and-on. If you're curious about another body mod, just try it out for a while, and move on to another if you're still not 100% happy with how it looks, and how it functions. ;] You can always go back later, once you know a lot about playing with your body meshes and textures, you'll know that switching them out doesn't harm your game, and CTD's are results of HDT not being happy or incompatible skeletons, scripts or whatnot. Get Mod Organizer. And learn how it works no matter how much you might hate it at first. Switching body meshes can be as easy and one-click drag and drop, no re-installing required. That's the only thing I can pimp here. xD
Guest Akrabra Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Sounds like Mod Organizer is the way to go for now then and try out stuff. How advanced is it compared to NMM?. And thanks for the answers.
jrok72 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 With the various Mod Managers/Organizers out there. The ones you like are the best!! Beware of their flaws and be prepared to manually change the load order. Plus remember to also check with TESVEdit at times. With all the games I have, I personally manage/merge mods. Steam alone gives me the pains of enjoying Skyrim.

Yeah, I was terrified of MO until I royally screwed up my install and had to start from scratch. Before that I used NMM. I love the fact that I can see what's overriding what, and can run loot and tes5edit from inside it. It's got a bit of a learning curve but it's not too terrible. Just fiddle around with it, and be aware of the settings and you're good to go.
Gameplayer Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Mod Organizer There is only one thing that matters that NMM will allow that Mod Organizer cannot do leagues better. You cannot use Creation Kit in all its glory from MO. For the CK everything currently has to be installed on skyrim folder. Everything else that matters critically to a mod user can only be found on Mod Organizer platform unless you want to compare older MO platforms like FOMM, which is pretty much what MO's today are based on. Almost all Sexlab mod author say use Mod Organizer. Whats that tell you?

Gameplayer Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Yup. I have to use both NMM and Mod Organizer. I use NMM, to install mods just so I can make programs for people to use, here on Lovers Lab. I use Mod Organizer for my gaming. -When I need to test an outfit for a specific body, I have virtual install folders for CBBE, UNPB, and SevenBase. For Bodies and Outfits. -I just open MO, check mark off SevenBase and CheckMark on CBBE. (no wait time for de-installation or installation) -Hit play The virtual folder system -Tells the player about which files are overwritten -Allows drag and drop re-arrangement (sometimes mods must be installed in specific order, NMM this takes IDK 5min to 2 hours maybe days if its tough) -Checkmark activation (You know its contents are no longer present in game because its not checked) -Cuts down on time spent identifying problems, "I cant estimate how powerful a time saver this is anymore." Load Order of ESP -Functions exactly the same I hope you don't mind the response, I just use all bodies and know about MO topic.
Fotogen Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 There is no solution for clipping and animations. Each animation author uses different tools, settings to make animations. Then there are different body mods. And then theres also Skyrim. Its not a perfect tool. It can never be perfect. Personaly I use CBBE. It has Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. Can make whatever body shape I want and mold any given armor to fit. It's not perfect, but CBBE/Bodyslide/Outfit Studio gives me more options, more freedom. Any shape (Bodyslide) and any armor (is for UNP, use Outfit studio to make it fit CBBE body). With Outfit studio I can even slap HDT jiggle onto anything. I don't use MO or any other 'installer'. Only Wrye Smash to setup load order. More work, but atleast I know whats going on and whats not.

Thanks for the help so far, i am currently trying out MO with a fresh install of Skyrim and we'll see. I am lucky Gopher just made a guide and uploaded it to youtube.
