Hadvar/Ralof fail to run to Riverwood

[Fredfish]

It happens on the final bend before Riverwood, they something like "Riverwod is just ahead" and start walking instead of running and never talk to the Blacksmith/Sister.

I've only had this happen using LAL

 

This seems (and I emphasise the word "seems") to be an issue caused by Frodnar (the small boy) getting stuck because Stump (the dog in Riverwood) isn't properly recognised sometime. You'll see Frodnar standing outside the Sleeping Giant and he'll just stand there permanently and never move, the small girl moves outside of Riverwood and gets stuck so may upset pathing (only a theory)

 

To fix it you have to find Stump and use the console to disable him then enable him again which seems to register it as an NPC and unsticks Frodnar.

Make sure you do this before you go to Helgen.

 

I've never had the Hadvar/Ralof problem if I've checked that Frodnar isn't stuck. It's the best I can suggest having run into this quite a few times but the above fix could have just been coincidence.

I had a save just before he freaked out, turned off ai (tai in the console) and went to Riverwood.

Found the dog locked in Gerdurs house.

Targeted the dog and used "moveto player" to get him outside then went back to Ralof

Untargeted the dog in the console and restarted the ai and it all ran properly
