xxsleepyxx Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 ok this is probably a noob question, but im kinda rusty at skyrim. How the hell do i get npcs to stop attacking me when i hit them by accident. i thought i was supposed to just sheath my weapon but it doesnt work. maybe a mod is messing this up? calm is basically useless since it never works on npcs at your level. Is there a mod that will make sheathing weapon yielding work?
cornbreadtm Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22538/? I've used this mod since it came out. You can also use skytweak to change the amount of hits that npcs will allow you before going aggro but its pointless if you drop them to there knees in one hit like I do. Fun fact: You can type "Skyrim no friendly fire mod" into google or whatever you are looking for, for these kind of things

I think AFT is taking care of that. im talking about other npcs. is there nothing better than skytweaks option? i dont need a chainsaw to shave with. And plus it doesnt even make the yielding work, only the ability to wack them more b4 they get mad. fun fact: use google and just find a bunch of other people saying wtf with same problem. no real answers aside from console commands. Im just trying to get the game working properly via mods or finding out if something is wrong with my game due to mods. This is why i asked here on LL. Usually people here know more.
Rokabur Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I tried one of those friendly fire mods a while back. Forget what the problem was it caused but it was enough I had to remove the mod and restart a new character.

Is there a mod that will make sheathing weapon yielding work? If it's just one, try sheathing your weapon, open console, click on(select) them, type "resetai", close console. If they are still pissed, reopen console, select npc and use "setrelationshiprank 0". If it's a follower use "setrelationshiprank 4".
Guest Omega1084 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Or you can just leave the hold and come back later. The guards will attempt to arrest you instead of attacking you.
Grail Quest Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 ... i thought i was supposed to just sheath my weapon but it doesnt work. maybe a mod is messing this up? ... I would look into a mod side-effect doing this because sheathing your weapon *is* how it is supposed to work. Even guards are supposed to stop and dialog you to yield, unless you already refused. Sometimes it is not a direct mod conflict but a side-effect of what a mod does. There is a mod that allows you to give NPCs gifts, by inserting global dialog options. This screws up the No One Escapes Cidhna Mine quest at the end as it somehow intercepts the removal of your bounty in The Reach. When you go into Understone Keep, just about everyone attacks you and even guards ignore your yields.
