Confused on FNIS

So I downloaded all the required FNIS mods to make Sexlab work but when I run the game it tells me I'm either missing a file or it is outdated. Thing is... I've updated all the FNIS and they're current. What do I do from this point on? I've run the FNISgenerator and it tells me I don't have creature pack installed (which I have bellyaches so I dunno) but as far as I knew, that was optional anyway. I just don't get whats going on.

Oh and I just noticed it says FNIS spells is currently at 5.1.1 and I have 5.1, but when I click the link to go to update page, the most recent is 5.1

Could that be the issue?

First, what, exactly is the game telling you? Neither FNIS or Sexlab (afaik) will "tell" you something like that. It sounds more like you have a completely different mod issue (for example, Live another life likes to spam you with a message box if you load a save game from before you installed it).

Second, when you run FNIS does it indicate that it generated animations for SexLab (showing question marks is okay)? Are you and every NPC stuck in the t-pose? If the answer to the first question is "Yes" and the answer to the second question is "No", then you're good in terms of FNIS in relation to SexLab.

FNIS Creature Pack contains animations for creatures, which govern what behaviours creatures are able to use. Bellyaches creature pack contains textures, which govern how the creatures look. You can use both of them together because they do totally different things. And yes, it is absolutely optional. You only need to install it if you want the creature animations provided by FNIS to work.

Current version of FNIS Behaviour files is 5.1.1, FNIS Spells is 5.0.1, and FNIS Creature Pack is 5.1. And the three are absolutely compatible with one another.

In order to make FNIS work, you need to:

1) Download and install "FNIS Behaviour V5_1_1 -- ALWAYS necessary"

2) OPTIONAL: download and install "FNIS Spells V5_0_1 -- ADD-ON for the spells"

3) OPTIONAL: download and install "FNIS Creature Pack 5_1"

4) Install whatever animation mods you want to use (SexLab mods, Idle Animations, etc.)

5) Run GenerateFNISforUsers

Note: If you are using Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) you need to answer NO when you're asked if you want to UPGRADE when you install either or both of the optional files

Every single time you add or remove an animation related mods, you will need to re-run GenerateFNISforUsers.

Hope this helps!

Okay so I double checked everything you guys said, still no difference but I THINK I discovered the issue.

In NMM in the mod section it says I have the FNIS idle installed but in the plugin list it isn't there, only spells and creatures. If thats the issue, how do I fix that?

also I get this in my FNIS run:

There is no plugin for the FNIS Behavior mod. It has meshes, scripts and tools. But there are no .esm or .esp files, which is what show up in the plugin list.

You HAVE to run GenerateFNISforUsers from the directory where Skyrim\Data is located. By default, if you're running Windows 7 64-bit, this is going to be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users. That way it can find your installation of Skyrim, the FNIS mod, and all the animations that you've installed as well.

Lol wow I'm half retarded. So what had happened was that when I initially installed FNIS it didnt give me the exe so I had to redo it, which gave me a new data folder where I was running it from (hence the error) so I went back in and looked at the original data folder and lo and behold... the exe was there. Ran it. No issues at all.  Works in game as well. Ty for the help, wouldn't have realized the mistake without your posts.
