Neodarkside Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I've been looking for good (and EASY to follow) guides on how to use the CK to alter NPCs heads. I am not a good or fluent user of CK so like I said, gotta be easy and hopefully step by step. I tried following this guide here as it seemed the easiest to use. I decided to tweak ysolda as well to see how she comes out. Unfortunately at step 3 it says click skyrim, update, and if I use apachii, which I did. If I just click Skyrim and update it works just fine and it loads everything, but if I choose another master file like Apachii hair or any other file, it says to many master files selected and aborts. Well I went back to step 1 and made a nord female, used vanilla hair and face paint. When I loaded her into CK again, picked ysolda and picked the file I made in step 2, she came out looking different still. Facial features are still somewhat the same but she has odd blotchs on her face, like a large red forehead color, white blotchs on her neck. I can take screen shots later if I must to show what I mean. Is Creation Kit the easiest way to beautify NPCs? I've done multiple google searches and one forum suggested a mod on the nexus, unfortunately I use Extended Color sliders and its not compatible. Most NPC mods on the nexus work to a degree but since I don't use their ENB or some of their mods, they never turn out the same, they look great in screen shots, but never in game. Which is why I want to do it on my own, make a character in Skyrim, then make a NPC look exactly like them. Or some program that lets me use Skyrims slider system to customize a NPC and then import it over their own. Any suggestions?
foxia Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 you need to edit your skyrimeditor.ini file. look for [general] and add these lines: bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 now search for SResourceArchiveList2 in that same ini file and add: DawnGuard.bsa, HearthFires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa to it. It should look like this afterwards: SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, DawnGuard.bsa, HearthFires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa save it and you should be able to open up multiple masters. and creating a face in Creation kit is a pain in the ass. an easier solution is to create the face with RaceMenu or Enhanced Character edit. after you get the details the way you want, save it by opening up the console and typing in "SPF (name of follower your creating)" Open up creation kit, selecting the masters you need. Once it's opened you can get started creating the new follower from there. to import the face. Go to Character Gen Parts select import and select the face file with the name of your character you saved earlier. it should import the face. if it doesn't look right like it doesn't show the warpaint the character had and has a bit of red on the forehead, shut down the creation kit and go to textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks and remove that folder. if you got any installed with MO just turn off the files that have it. reopen the creation kit and rebuild. It should look right now.
