gooboo Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 My game has started crashing a lot recently, and I thought I had solved the problem by installing the SSME patch. For a time it seemed to fix many of my crashing problems. I was looking at the memory blocks log and I noticed both columns have 256mb at the top. Is it supposed to say that? I thought I had switched the first block to 512mb some time ago. I tried installing the most recent SKSE, but that hasn't helped any. Here is what the memory log says- logging of blocks enabledlogging max values onlyTimer disabledBlock1 Block2256MB 256MB85 885 885 985 1085 1185 1285 1385 1485 1585 1685 1785 1885 1985 2085 2185 2285 2385 2485 2585 2685 2785 2885 2985 3085 3185 3285 3385 3485 3585 3685 3785 3885 3985 4085 4185 4285 4385 4485 4585 4685 4785 4885 4985 5085 5185 5285 5385 5485 5585 5685 5785 5885 5985 6085 6185 6285 6385 6485 6585 6685 6785 6885 6985 7085 7185 7285 7385 7485 7585 7685 7785 7885 7985 8085 8185 8285 8385 8485 8585 8685 8785 8885 8985 9085 9185 9285 9385 9485 9585 9685 9785 9885 9985 10085 10185 10285 10385 10485 10585 10685 10785 10885 10985 11085 11185 11185 11285 11385 11485 11585 11685 11785 11885 11985 12085 12185 12285 12386 12387 12388 12389 12390 12391 12392 12393 12394 12395 12396 12397 12398 12399 123100 123101 123102 123103 123104 123105 123106 123106 124112 124113 124114 124115 124116 124117 124118 124118 125119 125120 125121 125122 125123 125124 125125 125126 125127 125128 125129 125129 126130 126131 126131 127131 128131 129131 130132 130143 130148 130149 130150 130151 130152 130153 130154 130155 130156 130157 130158 130158 131159 131160 131161 131162 131183 131184 131200 131200 132200 133201 133202 133203 133204 133205 133206 133207 133207 134208 134208 135208 136209 136209 137209 138209 139209 140210 140211 140212 140213 140214 140215 140216 140217 140218 140219 140220 140221 140222 140223 140224 140225 140226 140227 140228 140229 140230 140231 140231 141232 141233 141234 141235 141236 141237 141238 141239 141240 141241 141242 141243 141244 141245 141246 141247 141247 142248 142249 142250 142251 142252 142253 142254 142255 142256 142256 143256 144256 145256 146256 147256 148256 149256 150256 151256 152 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
gooboo Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 That's what I figured, but why isn't it working now? I thought the most recent SKSE had the memory patch built into it. What do I need to change to get it to work?
Rayblue Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 SKSE 1.7.1 no longer requires SSME in that it now integrates Sheson's fix. You must check if you have skse.ini and edit accordingly: [Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 data/skse/skse.ini
gooboo Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Okay, I didn't see any SKSE.ini in my folder, so I downloaded one and edited i accordingly, but after playing my game and crashing it a few times, the memory log still says 256mb in both columns. I'm totally lost.
gooboo Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Okay I found the problem I had accidentally deleted the d3dx9_42 file, and the patch wasn't working anymore. It says 512 mb in the left column now. Derp.
bahamut2119 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Fyi dont use SSME with SKSE rigged to do the same thing it will cause issues.

You must check if you have skse.ini and edit accordingly: [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=512 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 data/skse/skse.ini 512 gives a value of 256, setting the value to 768 gives a value of 512, unless the SKSE code has been changed since 1-7 was a Beta. Using ENBoost, which is just using the enblocal.ini with the tweaks to remove V-Ram from counting against the 3.1 Gb limit Skyrim has can also greatly help with ILS and CTD problems.
