Pregnancy Suggestion/Question

So, we have currently...like 4 Pregnancy mods. I wanted to ask a question (from an ignorant perspective) and see if this is something that may work or not.

 

Would it be possible to make a single mod with an option for a "realistic" pregnancy (like Beeing Female) and an "unrealistic"  option (like Hentai Pregnancy) but make impregnation, when it occurs, handled in a standard way. Maybe a couple kid options too?

 

The reason I ask, honestly, is with two major Pregnancy Mods and a couple modders who prefer each one, I am concerned about some people being left out to a degree. If we had a single mod that could send the "X is pregnant" message regardless of if it is on a sperm/egg check at the right time of the cycle or just a "result was less than 39% so they are pregnant" during the act. The goal would be so whatever mod you are making, a general pregnancy mod can work with that mod.

 

I know Apropos is looking at Hentai Pregnancy and Breeder is looking at Beeing Female, and I hate to have anyone get less use from a mod because of how they like pregnancy handled.  It seems like finding a way to combine the mods is the best possible thing for the community. Having a mod with options also seems to be the best way to avoid X does A, Y does B, Z does C and B but not A.

 

It seems (again, from an ignorant perspective) like it would mostly be a matter of combining mods for different options, and it seems like it would make for the best way to integrate pregnancy without either leaving some people out in the cold or forcing a modder to account for 2-3 impregnation systems.

 

Or I could be wrong. Being wrong is apparently a hobby of mine. But I thought it was worth asking.

You're not "wrong".

You have an idea about how mods could be made to "work together" better. 

 

I like having choices. With Mod Orgganizer, I can have a profile using Beeing Female, one with Hentai Pregnancy, one with SL Soul Gem Pregnancy.... and whatever.

 

It would be WONDERFUL if there was like..... some kind of "central registry" for mods that do the same thing or similar things. But I think it would be hard to implement.

 

Mod authors would have to rewrite parts of their mod to send (or make available to the "central registry" a flag or token that says, for example, "player is pregnant".

 

A central registry would hold things like... which mod controls the actual pregnancy. Which mod has control of the breast scaling, belly scaling, butt scaling... whatever.

But this sounds like an awful lot to ask. Very often you'll see a mod author say, "I made this for myself, but figured I'd share it..."

 

These folks are doing this in their spare time and quite frankly coming up with some pretty amazing and interesting work. Asking them to rewrite stuff to "make it fit" something else, could be asking a bit too much.

 

Just my 2 cents.... 

 

I'll make suggestions to mod authors, but in the end, it's THEIR work and they kind of develop it in a way that THEY like.

Oh yea it totally is their work, and I am certainly not making demands. I can work with what I have. It just seems the path of least resistance for the community.
