Completely unresponsive mouse

Hello everyone !

I'm gonna need a hand solving that issue I ran into. After months being away from home I decided to play a bit of Oblivion after all this time. Now first thing I noticed is that when the game played the logos ( Bethesda one and the Oblivion cutscene before the menu) I could see the mouse pointer playing the "I'm loading stuff" pointer. Now upon arriving on the main menu, I simply cannot get the mouse to move at all.I managed to load my savegame by using arrow keys and painstakingly figuring where I'm going but that's all I've been able to do. I tried to Alt + Tab out and in the game and when I do that the usual "This application has stopped functioning" error comes up.

 

I tried to load the game with weOCPS to try to figure what actually is happening with the game and this is what I got :

The game used to work just fine before so I'm very surprised by the fact that it suddenly starts going fubar.

The only change I've done recently is updating my grapic card's drivers from 13.xx to the 14.4 drivers.

My hardware is as follows

 

Intel  i7 860

16 GB of RAM DDR3 1333 Mhz

1 Tb hard drive + 3 Tb hard drive

Sapphire HD 6970 2GB Battlefield Vietnam Edition

I just tried to reboot my PC altogether and the problem is gone. Consider this solved

Well I was going to say something and still will.  Grats on getting it fixed but to me it sounded like a hardware issue.  Some next gen mouses (like the Razor Nega etc) need software to work right.  Windows 7 usually has it already but on occasion you'll run across one that needs a driver.
