slashfighter Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 There were a few things that made oblivion just incrdible for me the first was Better Cities ( I know alot of people dislike it ) but what made it for me was the Kaleen Race, and what was even better was Geechan's hoof mod. Unfortunatly that was limited and I often thought about adding to it but I never got around to it, well I've decided that I'd give it another go but seeing as CK isn't out that'll be hard to do. My idea is to make a system in which the player can easily equip armors that can at will ( via a script ) change back and forth from hooved and unhooved ( this will require not only a hooved body mesh but also all the armors and clothes in Skyrim to be converted ). This system would also allow the player to make their character hooved so every armor the player equips is converted into its hooved equivilent ( this could be turned off and on at any time ) and, if the player chooses, make a particular race ( that is all PC and NPC's ) to be hooved. For instance say I decided that I wanted to be a Nord, and I wanted my Nord to be hooved, I'm a very immersion enjoying person so it doesnt fair well with me if I'm the only Nord in skyrim with hooves so this system would allow me to change every NPC in the game, this would work with custom races aswell but they'd have to be implimented into the system. This would require first of all an epic scripter ( I'm just dreadfully horrible with that stuff ) and someone to help with converting all the armors and clothes personally I don't know much about making armors for skyrim ( especially with a different lower body mesh ) but I am okay at using Nifscope so I suppose that's a start. I'm not putting this here in the hope that someone will come along and make this mod for me ( it's not a request ) but rather I'm looking for someone to help me make this. If you guys have any ideas I'd like to hear them. Thy ^^
oc7opus Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I think it would be easier for the hooves to work on the idea of boots instead of necessitating a new body mesh. What you propose is a lot of work though not that I'm trying to discourage you. If it was on the idea of boots/shoes it would require less remeshing of armours and so forth although that depends on the kind of hooves you're talking about. Actually, what kind of hooves are you talking about?
Quemon Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I know another game with Lich Armor, with hooves an wings, it was amezing!

Actually' date=' what kind of hooves [i']are[/i] you talking about? The hooves I was talking about were this sort of thing so it would really require a new body mesh and convertign the armors ( since strangly skyrim merges the greaves and the cuiress )
Woodstock Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 A oc7opus said, this would be a great deal of work. The bone structure in the Dranaei legs is very different from normal humans/elves and with a change in bone structure there arises an issue with the ingame animation. I haven't looked at the vanilla animation data but the extra leg and extended foot bones would require changes. Changing a foot to a hoof would simplify matters but that is probably not what you want.

[/quote'] I dont actually think it would require an changes to the animation at all really as it's essentually the same leg but with the lower leg being bend and changed the foot bone would be shorteneed so I think the animations would just apply to the bones that exist. I'll ask Geechan at some point, seeing as he already did this but the mod doesnt have any animation files in it
H3xx Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I would really like a pair of horse hoof boots. preferable made so that they look like part of the leg, instead of a pair of boots.
