Oblivion UI and inventory problems

Here is my problem.

 

In late game when you're carrying so much stuff around I have alot of stuff in the inventory and it becomes very clogged and so I went on and tried to find an inventory mod that makes it grid like.

 

I had darnified UI installed, but I only found a mod that changed it to the grid view which supported the DarkDarnified UI. So I went on and found the dark one installed it over and then installed the grid. I wasnt really happy with the colours and so I went on and deactivated the Dark UI and went on to delete the inventory files associated with the griddy inventory and reinstalled Darnified.

 

Then Oblivion started crashing and I have no clue as to what to do to fix it. I'm 100% sure it's not a different mod that causes the crashes as the only 3 I toyed around where the inventory and menu mods.

 

Is there any way to circumvent the lenghty uninstall/reinstall all procedure?

 

Would it help if I linked all the mods in question?

Your mod list would certainly be helpful to get to the bottom of things.

 

But first have you tried deleting your oblivion.ini file in documents\my games\oblivion\ folder? Then run the game and it will generate a new one. UI mods change that ini file and there could be changes left over from Darn that are screwing things up.

Is it ok if it's a BOSS copy? I tried to delete the ini but it doesnt fix the problem. The game loads, but as soon as I start to load the game or start a new one on the loading screen with the load bar, as soon as it moves, the game crashes. It was running fine and I only experienced a crash now and then, but nothing that would ruin my gaming experience, but it would suck to reinstall everything (not to mention how tedious it can be ). I apreciate your help.

Well, your load order really doesn't look bad to me. I do see one duplicate however:

I would disable the japanese version - unless you understand japanese

 

I assume you have OBSE v20 and pluggy v125c or later as well as MenuQue right?

 

It also looks like you have an older version of MBP (1.3a) where as most mods that use MBP are 1.4a minimum. However I don't see that you really have any mods requiring MBP so that is not likely to be a problem.

 

What mods have you installed recently? Try to think back to when the crashes started occurring and what you might have installed just prior to that. Likely this will be the key as it may have altered or overwritten something.

Mods in question were:

I tried to go retroactive on them, deleting the darkui inventory files as stated in the uninstall procedure. Then I removed DarkUId through OBMM and reinstalled Darnified UI with OBMM again and completly removed DarkUI. Still the game crashes. If you have any other idea that might be helpful, I'd be grateful, since it would save me 3h of reinstallations.

Well, for kicks and giggles I would try three things:

 

1. Delete your oblivion.ini at documents\my games\oblivion\

 

2. Uninstall DarNified UI 1.3.2 and then reinstall DarkUId DarN 16 OMOD Version11280 - DON'T install Darkui wz inventory fixed full10289

 

3. Find and or create the missing walk animation and drop it in the directory shown.

 

After doing all three steps in that order then try starting a new game (to check that everything is working. You can try a saved game later but they may or may not work correctly.

Is it crashing at startup? If not when exactly is it crashing?

Startup loads normaly, I get to game menues, but as soon as I come to the loading screen, it doesnt matter if it's a load game or new game and the load bar starts to move, the game crashes.

Well, you are down to the final solutions:

 

1. Disable all mods and delete that oblivion.ini again in your save game folder.

See if you can start with just the game plus any official dlc you own.

 

A. If this works then make a new save after you leave the sewers, then exit oblivion and begin adding back mods 1-3 at a time and test that you can start by loading save you made after exiting the sewers (don't add more at a time as it becomes harder to figure out which is causing the crashes). Continue to add mods back until you find your crash.

 

B. If you can't even start with just the original game plug official dlc then make a backup of your game somewhere (so you don't loose all your meshes/textures/sounds and such) and then reinstall oblivion over top of the existing game. With just the original game and official dlc now try to start your game. If this doesn't work then uninstall oblivion and make a new clean install.
