Help with bug - items not equipping

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone would know why some of the items I get I cant equip? The thing that is bugging me most is I have the mod "Deathbell princess" for a druid/forest Nymph type of character. It says they are "rings" in the info on the mod page, but they turn out being slots for "forearms". When i try to equip them it makes the sound but doesn't equip or show them equipped. I have had this issue in previous set ups (on my old computer) but I cant seem to find out what it causing it? Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you =D (P.S. if anyone knows of any other good druidic/forest nymph armor/clothing let me know, please!)

Not familiar with the mod but it's possibly a conflict with other custom clothing mods, particularly any that involve scripted actions. The most obvious example would be Deviant Devices.

 

You're papyrus log could contain some clues.

 

You may want to try loading that mod last in case some element of it is being overridden.

 

Can you equip the items if your character is completely stripped first?

 

If so then re-equip and test items one at a time until you find one that causes problems.

 

If not then take a look through your inventory using player.inv in the console, see if there are any items without names. These could be place-holders or tokens for scripted equipment or their effects that might be interfering.

 

Failing that it might be worth trying Save Game Script Cleaner as there may be disassociated scripts from previous mods that are still executing when you perform certain actions.

the purpose of the rings is to equip all slots used by the armor at once (including the included body mesh), instead of having to equip equip each piece (body, hands, feet, etc) one by one.  in addition to some standard slots, the mod does use unnamed additional slots 58, 59, 60.  it is possible that another mod is interfering with the slots required to equip

 

have you tried to equip on a follower or using console

help deathbell

see what ids show for the 4 deathbell outfits (example bd000d6d)

click on your char or npc and type in console

equipitem bd000d6d 1

(with space 1 after the armor id)

and see if you can equip it that way?

To Sailing Rebel: I intially tried it on nude. My papyrs is a mess I cant fingure out anything in it lol Atm im also having a crash to desktop when I get near whiterun.
